i would think so, it's time to speculate, pick the alts you like and buy while they are low. then sit back for a couple of weeks and you should see a nice return. buy while theres blood on the streets as they say

some have been trading btc back into alts which is why i thought eth would be one to go up. others have been trading alts into btc to hpefully get the free bcc tokens if and when the split comes. i guess most have made their choice to get more btc

So after people get free BCC, Altcoins will rise a lot.

why is this tanking so hard? i thought loads of people would buy this while the bitcoin chaos is going on? people are selling btc and changing into alts and i thought ethereum would be one of them?
I am also curious. Why bitcoin is going up while all the altcoins are going down?

the ethereum's price.

This is really nice to hear, more mainstream media more awareness and more increase in volume and price, even though am late to this project still believe ether has more things to offer, just a matter of time.

ETH is doing fine despite the SEC news, I wonder what will happen in the future after they start enforcing it.

That kind of nonsense, will turn the financial regulator into a laughing stock.

The Tokens were bought with Ethereum, which under American tax laws for Internal Revenue Code was being declared as 0 profit items in tax declarations.

The youtuber Mr YukonC explains how he declared his POW mining rewards under Internal Revenue Code as 0 profit items.

No crypto-currency or token is certain to be listed on exchanges or all exchanges. LOL

I dont understand, what do you mean by 0 profit items? Doesnt he have to pay tax if he gets any kind of income? Certainly after it is converted into USD...

Why don't you ask him!

There isn't a single ICO which delivered whatever was promised till today. I see this thing a good step for user protection because only serious project will be out because of fear of facing legal issues. Ethereum is just smart contract provider and will not effected because it has vast industry to use its blockchain for smart contracts.

Don't be silly. Etheroll is one good example of a running dapp after successful ICO.

What did Ethereum Pumpers Forget to Tell You about "The Flippening"?

https://freedomnode.com/blog/81/what-did-ethereum-pumpers-forget-to-tell-you-about-the-flippening

Someone, did a post a few days ago showing that in terms of cash purchases - Ethereum cash purchases is equivalent to the next 19 main crypto-currencies put together.

Assuming, that post is correct - after Ethereum goes to POS, it will gradually overtake Bitcoin.

Minimal electricity and hardware costs, plus greater cash purchases equals a growing market cap.

However, it will actually depend on the volume of ICOs on the Ethereum Network - since they do effectively sell down Ethereum in the short run, but this will be less of issue when the POW has ended.

Let's face facts, some miners are addicted to buying GPUs, they will sell down everything, so long as they can buy some more GPUs! LOL

Yeah that someone may be me...  Wink

Sharing with you an interesting analysis of the repartition by volume of fiat/crypto trading.

Seems that the South Koreans are well represented in the Ethereum economy.

The fact that fiat investors goes mainly toward ETH is indeed a good indicator for us but I'm not sure that this is enough per se.

It may be interesting to check how this indicator went during the past few months. Just to be sure it isn't just some sort of South Korean hype...

Plus I'm quite amazed that if so many fiats are going into ETH, the market cap isn't already bigger than BTC's. But I didn't do the maths: maybe it's just because ETH are generated much faster than BTC.

EDIT: I did my own graph that you can see below

You can see that there is a thiner gap that on the post on Reddit between BTC's volume and ETH's (that's because the 19th of July was a huge day for ETH volume).

Given that the total ETH daily trading volume is about 750 M$, you can also see that ETH volume is still concentrated in fiat vs. ETH trading on a few exchanges. On the contrary, given that the total BTC daily trading volume is around 950 M$, there is much more small BTC vs fiat exchanges or BTC vs crypto trading.

Thus being said, I found out that for each ETH mined, there are 45 kETH traded. On the same time, for each BTC mined, there are 550 kBTC traded. That explains why even if more fiat are invested in ETH, the market cap is still way behind BTC's. That's being very logical given that you create almost 150 ETH every 10 minutes when you mine only 12.5 BTC.
