When will the blockchain be back? I wait for so many days, I wish we can be normal asap. It makes me miserable, my coin stuck can't dump this.   Angry

These things happen because, for banks ,it's difficult  to make a functional wallet ,let alone understand how real decentralised blockchains work ((( without rollbacks )) ,but hey.....it's weekend! Banks r closed. Call ETHBANK AT MONDAY MORNING

Amazing how much ETH is being attacked right now, and that it didn't happen earlier this year. Lots of issues over the last month, can hardly run the client.
Nobody is attacking ETHF. It is just a buggy altcoin protocol. The more it is patched the more holes are created.

No matter what happens, ETH will dominate thanks to all the attacks because they'll learn how to fix and prevent them all. It'll be the most rock-solid crypto of all time in due course. Sincere, and I mean sincere, thanks to ETC. You are making my day. I do respect you and understand your viewpoint. But still, I mainly thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my day, every day, and keeping the ETH price from skyrocketing. But, it's only a matter of time until it does: Patience, Persistence, Perseverance.

Dream on. You don't harm anybody. Just make sure you burn your own money!

Today's Blockchain Issues and Parity Fix self.ethereum
Submitted 13 hours ago by SouptacularEthereum - Hudson Jameson
Today, we've seen an sudden increase in the uncle-rates, and a corresponding drop in difficulty, indicating latency or connectivity-problems between nodes.

The reason this is happening is that the attacker has found an issue with how Parity relays transactions; as it by default does not validate transactions before relaying.

The attacker is submitting large transactions which are being passed around, even though they are (for the most part) never included into any blocks.

Example of a transaction which actually were included: https://etherscan.io/tx/0xb1d7fbdc4b28c0471ca92d290b4d46f6d2471ee0f7bd1ece2661e57d86cd51eb

To address these issues we ask all Parity-users upgrade to the latest release of the Parity client: https://github.com/ethcore/parity/releases/tag/v1.3.5

It'd be nice.
Etherium isn't viable
No it isn't, because it's Ethereum.

You are correct. That was a little sarcastic of me, I admit, but I seriously DO respect your point of view. The Yin and Yang. People got hurt all over the place. That's never good. I do not know what the right thing to do was. I came on AFTER all of that hassle, but knew about it. I guess I just bet my gut feeling about it. And, I could still be wrong as holy whatever. So, my intent is not to harm anybody, but just share my thoughts and hope whatever happens benefits the most folks. If ETC coexists with ETH, that is great with me. It certainly deserves to. Again, no sarcasm, my truest thoughts. Everybody just do their own thing. That's what's important. Follow your heart. That's all that matters with anything. Thank you for commenting on my post.

Hi, i am a newbie, which is real blockchain? etc or eth?

Etc is the original and eth is forked and not the original any more

Actually neither are the original.

Ethereum has forked more than once and will fork many times more, this was even apart of their roadmap.

Forks are needed to be cutting edge.

Of course the DAO hack fork was not a technical fork but rather an ideological fork that many people had an issue with.

I have no issue people investing in ETC, however I am worried that the thief spread a lot of ETH fud to keep ETC value high for their exit.

I believe the thief is still paying people off till this day to discredit all of the Ethereum team and foundation to get as many suckers in before they finally fully cash out.

True the balance changes is the critical point though and you can't trust a blockchain if it can be edited. The only point of a blockchain is not to edit history.

To be fair any blockchain can be edited, also it's not like the fork stole the funds from the hackers addresses.

Yes they edited history, but only the DAO contract. The DAO contract had a time limit on withdrawing funds so that the hacker never actually got any funds to their addresses.

I am quite sure that if the DAO had paid out immediately to the hackers address, nothing could be done as it would have been too late.

Although to a certain degree I believe the fork to be a disaster as ETC is currently worth more than the DAO hack.

This means that ETH has actually lost more market cap as a result of the fork than the hack cost.

I argue that the needs of the many outweigh the few and the hack should have not been forked as it has damaged Ethereum's reputation and allowed ETC to exist to the tune of $100mm.

And I really don't like the Ethereum developers talking about the innocent DAO investors, seriously that is a load of rubbish.

No one investing in a experimental program/contract (DAO) on top of an experimental platform (Ethereum) in an experimental space (CryptoCurrency) is innocent and should expect a bail out when things go wrong.

Everyone one here is here for the 10 - 10000 times returns on their gamble. That applies to BTC, ETH, ETC, XMR, etc...

None of the people that invested in the DAO are innocent cautious investors and I think that it's a damn shame that they took this path.

But with that said, I still stand by the current version of Ethereum because that is where the people have moved onto and to many outside, the fork was the mature thing to do, and that has lended a lot of credibility to the Ethereum Foundation and miners.

Yes it was wrong and selfish, but ETC just doesn't have any backing or support at this point in time and all developments are moving ahead on ETH.

When the fork happened it had 85% support, that says something.

ETC probably doesn't have a future.

Dollar-cost averaging.

Dollar-cost averaging (DCA) is an investment technique of buying a fixed dollar amount of a particular investment on a regular schedule, regardless of the share price. The investor purchases more shares when prices are low and fewer shares when prices are high.

No matter what happens, ETH will dominate thanks to all the attacks because they'll learn how to fix and prevent them all. It'll be the most rock-solid crypto of all time in due course. That's what I'm about. A bit here and a bit there on a regular basis. It is still SO early. Good night Irene.

Hi, i am a newbie, which is real blockchain? etc or eth?

Disclaimer: I do not hold ETC.

Both are real blockchains.

For acceptance have a look at the difference in market caps between Ethereum Classic and Ethereum.

https://coinmarketcap.com/

That doesn't tell the whole story as all coins are being manipulated but at least it gives you an idea.

Research and decide what one or both to invest in. (or none!)

One way of looking at it, buy the same amount of coins in both meaning that you have a whole slice of the Ethereum pie.

Hello, guys.

Could someone please share the entire blockchain up-to-date (chaindata folder) ?
It's taking too long for my pc to sync.
Thank you.
that's not the method.
If you're sync takes to long please update geth to newest or use parity, if it cannot help please delete old chain..
Yesterday I have tested and parity sync from 0 in about 2hours..
Geth is updated. I tried to use "geth --fast" but it's also slow.
What is Parity ? Is it some 3d-party wallet ? I need official ethereum wallet.
please run parity (you can download it from: https://ethcore.io/parity.html ) with --geth flag
then start Ethereum Wallet

It took me more than 5 hours to sync.
Then I started Ethereum Wallet as you told me and... And it started to download blockchain again!
And that Parity thing is just command-line black interface, it's just importing blocks, nothing else.. It's not a wallet or browser. Useless soft.
So I just spent 5 hours for nothing.
No no, you shouldn't close parity before turning ethereum wallet on . Or maybe you have another directory than default in your Ethereum Wallet..
I tried with opened and closed - no luck. It downloads blocks into nowhere. I can't find a place on my pc. But my wallet's folder has the same size (it's on Roaming -> Ethereum and Ethereum Wallet (2 folders)).
Parity folder is on Users -> .parity. It's about 4 Gb. Not 20+.

Could you just share your chaindata folder ? Via torrent, for example ?
