Prediction: Exchanges to Drop ETC

Things do not look so good right now that we have tainted coins floating about. There is so much ambiguity, no legal definitions, no clear answers to who owns what from the original chain, anytime ETC moves all one needs to do is bother an Exchange and say that they are stolen funds on the move. Does an exchange want that? To spent its time and resources reassuring itself that the ETC is allowed to be exchanged?

This does not bode well for the future of ETC. Fungibility.

All ETC regardless will forever been viewed with suspicion regardless. Perhaps there is enough for an exchange to make on trading that they set up a tips line for ETC from now till for ever, a dedicated tracking team to filed false tips that stolen ETC are on the move.  This remains to be seen.

OK, let's look at economic model of how Ethereum will work after the POW has finished, when all 18 million have been issued for GPU hash output.

Variable 1: The Ethereum Foundation has maximised Capital Retention by doing POS aimed at 0% inflation.

Variable 2: The Ethereum Foundation has Extra Funds too turbo charge Network maturity and Network upgrades and Network Features.

Therefore, the Ethereum Foundation can build an equivalent of "Bitpay" or fund "Bitpay" too incorporate Ethereum payments into their existing system.

Variable 3: The Next Generation of Crypto enthusiasts will want to own the 2nd biggest crypto-currency.

Many people who I knew, kept buying, Litecoins with Cash simply because it was the 2nd biggest crypto-currency.

To make Ethereum more attractive too the Next Generation; the Ethereum Foundation can partially fund Electron for a deployment of a non-blockchain wallet. Or, they can speed up the development of their own non-blockchain wallet.

Funds will outflow in Ethereum into Cash transactions, as people buy products or services at various retailers. This will cause the Cash price of Ethereum to go down.

The Next Generation will use the opportunity in a dip in the Ethereum to buy Ethereum with Cash, which with cause the Ethereum Cash price to go up.

Furthermore, because there is no expenditure on mining equipment in the POS stage, the overall Cash price will trends upwards each year, because the supply of Cash is constantly being increased across the world.

THEREFORE, LONG-TERM HOLDERS OF ETHEREUM WILL SEE YEARLY INCREASES IN THE CASH VALUE OF THEIR ETHEREUM COINS.

You are not looking at economic model being used by the Ethereum Foundation.

The economic model is: 18 million ETH available during a short POW stage lasting 18 months.

Then, a switch to POS, which will be targeted at Zero inflation.

Ethereum will not need the vast cash inflows, which Litecoin and Bitcoin required to fund a switch from GPU mining to ASIC mining.

Consequently, the cash inflows via funding vehicles, such as exchanges, will directly feed into a scarcity mechanism.

When the POS stage begins, inflows of cash will directly transfer to the scarcity mechanism.

However, outflows of cash will NOT go towards funding a switch over from GPUs too ASIC hardware.

Avoiding, that expensive piece of Bitcoin and Litecoin history will produce a significant capital retention within the Ethereum Network.
