Suppose it all goes wrong during the upgrade then what happens next for Ethereum?
this is good news if the block reward is reduced by 1 ETH at least it can increase the price of ETH in the future, because what I know beforehand from 3 ETH to 2 ETH is not too significant because it makes ETH price drop so far below $ 130, I think it's better 0.5 ETH or 0.1 ETH may still look fair to miners
Just take a look at the chart before ethereum block reward gone from 3 to the 2 ethereum and see what happened to the price of ethereum. It's not about how much reward that will be reduced from the block. but it's about how to make it becomes usable. In other hand when the block reward will be reduced until 0.5 ethereum for each block and miners will earn nothing from their activities. They will prefer to take the fees from the tx rather than try to mine with more and more GPUs.

We are here like confusion with the policy steps of the next ETH, for the time being the best decision is to wait until early next year to start for the changes and updates needed.

Yes, everyone is hoping that the price of ETH will increase based on the market situation, as of now, we don't see any improvement in the market and this makes the price of an altcoin is facing a huge downturn in the market. We shouldn't lose our hopes in the market and still has a huge chance for ETH to move upwards in the coming days.
