What was the purpose of creating a new token? I don't think it's fair to ESH holders to create a new token. The profits shouldn't be shared with some people other than those who trusted you and invested in the ICO.
Assume that half of the ESH holders sell their tokens for Sdex. What will happen to the investment of the others who are holding ESH as a long term investment? They might panic and cause more fall in price.

Wasn't there any ICO for Sdex? It can be bought only on the exchange. Right?

Here I am referring at the interview of the CEO of ethreshift I am late to read it but it is pretty much relevant even after one week of publishing date. They are working on exchanging platform enhancement by making available most desirable markets to bring customers.

As they has announced on their Telegram channel, they will be looking to list on exchanges in mid 2019. Before that time you can hold your tokens and receive monthly airdrops.

The exchange development is still on progress and it's not 100 decentralized now. They have focused on the development of the project. After new version is released, they will likely make effort to be listed on coinmarketcap.

Ethershift team is increasing the use cases for ESH at the same time trying to make the exchange a place for multiple stuff trading. Look at the gift cards you can find those with high demand and frequently used gift cards of top brands. This shows quality is top priority for them instead of throwing stuff with no demand. All things together will give value to ESH in future.

Yes, As the team has promised, Ethershift will provide privacy and safety for the users. But it remains to be seen what troubles they will have with regulators. The governments are trying to stop people from making anonymous transactions.
I hope that Ethershift will be a real decentralized exchange.

And there is big difference between the ESH airdrop and other airdrops. Ethershift is distributing the tokens that have been earned through the platform. They are not some useless tokens like others that only increase the supply and cause the price to decrease.

A lot of bad things this year so it's normal if the price of coins decreases and almost has no price. We can only be patient to see prices back again.
