Anyone thought about what might be possible overclocking with something like liquid nitrogen?

LN2 is only really used for setting chip max speed records, not something used for more than an hour or two per run. Don't be silly.

I feel liquid-cooling might be simpler: a bath of specialised coolant. Just sink it in. You don't need the specialised infrastructure Nitrogen would require (I'm not a specialist in that though)
But I think it would only be beneficial at a certain scale.
You'd probably better off buying extra boards and chip, or target less MH/s

Hi, I don't think we are planning to group buy chips here... There were many group buys set up for that Smiley Have a look around the forums, some might still be open.

On a semi-related note, I wonder how the difference in chip despatch time would influence the delivery of the assembly. It would obviously be more efficient to send everything at once to the manufacturer, but some of us might receive their chip several weeks apart. I can't imagine them running 20 different runs.

@evilscoop, what is now the size of the group buy, in term of board pledge? You mention being near or having exceeded 200.

I'm interested in the project by the way :-)

That's a shame Smiley I suppose it should work pretty well even with 80mm fans...

Im not sure fans on the heatsink are needed, but I feel they should be included....
I absolutely agree with this. These devices are meant to be mining for at least a year so reliability and durability is important.

By the way, what size is the heatsink?
