So is a Cryptsy listing really all that good considering the recent news? (Honest question - just curious)

Bitcoin Exchange Cryptsy Faces Lawsuit Over Customer Account Breach (CoinDesk)

The way it appears to me is that the Plaintiff is suing Cryptsy over a loss of 140BTC on January 26 that "was drained from his account due to internal transactions". His lawyers also state that Cryptsy had a security breach in December 2013.

The owner of Cryptsy says "In this case the attack on the user making the claim came from within their own computer. "

Had there been more than just one person claiming a loss of BTC in that time frame, especially since there are thousands of Cryptsy users, maybe there would be something legitimate, but to me it looks like thus guy was hacked and had his PC taken over.

If a judge takes this case and rules in favor of the plaintiff it will open a can of worms on any US based exchange.

Thanks for the response. I agree with you, I was just thinking in broad terms about the knee-jerk reactions that happen within the alt community. As long as people keep their heads, this shouldn't be an issue. But I've seen the insane reactions that people have. And they aren't pretty.  Cheesy
