This has nothing to do with google

As I understand it, they make blockchain external data available over the blockchain. This service might be useful to smart contracts - where we come to the new partnership with smartcontract.com
I'm just not sure why the PDF file describes requests to the oracle via http requests instead of blockchain transactions. It may also be a way to save the current value of an external asset permanently on the blockchain. Can someone shed some light into this?
