Dear Dev,

i se the final ratio for the swap. I have no doubt that this will be the best choice but I would like to know the reasons why it was decided to choose the ratio 50: 1 instead of 5: 1.

Thanks in advance for the answer you give me.

Hi,

The reason for 50:1 is to help us reach parity with BTC. At present a single Tips is worth a lot less than a single Satoshi. This means we cannot trade against Bitcoin, even though Tips/BTC pairs exist.  It is hoped that the ratio, combined with our development and marketing will change that.

Best!

Hi,

Actually before we started reviving Fedora, the wallet had not been updated for several years. It hadn't been security patched. There was minimal active community left and no social channels. Over the last year we have upgraded and secured the wallets and reestablished the community channels. We have also grown the relationship with exchanges and achieved new exchange listings.

At this point in time however there are now much better coin technologies. We have built an entirely new chain, with much faster transactions, full privacy, new wallets including Mac. It also will allow us to create a web wallet in a short space of time, which means we can build mobile tipping and buying. In other words start building more features on the roadmap we developed.

Please check the website for more details www.tipsco.in

All of this is intended to grow the coin and the community

Cheers

If possible I prefer 1-5 swap because the circulating supply will reduce from 212 Billion to 42 B and the total supply from 482 B to 96 B (less the 100 B).

Here some examples of coins with more than 42 B of circulating supply with the price on BTC markets in this moment in wich the market is so depressed.

 KIN                 KIN   0,00000002 BTC      756.097.560.976
 Dentacoin          DCN   0,00000005 BTC   325.226.613.094
 Bytecoin          BCN   0,00000037 BTC   183.890.481.254
 Holo                  HOT   0,00000011 BTC   133.214.575.156
 Nexty          NTY   0,00000006 BTC      104.707.875.797
 Pundi X          NPXS   0,00000036 BTC        87.487.145.429
Silent Notary   SNTR   0,00000001 BTC        83.052.191.711
 HTMLCOIN      HTML   0,00000003 BTC     52.292.389.428

With the next adoption by the masses of the cryptos (shortly, i think) the price will increase and it will be necessary a fairly high number of coins in order to have a "reasonable" purchase price (0.01$ - 0.02$), therefore 1-5 swap can be a good ratio.

At today's price ($ 0.000010) with this ratio (1-5, at least in the first cycle) it will be difficult to lose value after the swap.

If the swap is done by an exchange (eg: coinexchange), at least in the first cycle, in wich transfer all the coins (voluntary), the procedure will be simplified also for "non-tech people".

P.M.

Hi Maprofit!

Thank you very much - really helpful feedback! We are definitely proposing a reduced supply.  Initial thinking was 10:1 but 5:1 could also work.  As it's still in planning we are just looking for as much feedback as possible right now so thanks again!

The Ticker
There has also been discussion in other channels about the Fedora Ticker.  Some people have asked that we stay on the existing ticker (TIPS).  Other people like us moving to a new ticker (TIP).

The main impact of the ticker decision relates to exchange trading: if we go to a new ticker (TIP) then the legacy TIPS will probably remain on some exchanges for trading (Altilly, Nova).  Other exchanges (Coinexchange is confirmed) will only keep the new Fedora coin, whatever we call it, so ticker name is irrelevant in that case.
We are yet to receive feedback from Gate, but they are a very busy exchange.

Important: Ticker name won't affect the operation of the legacy chain for anybody who doesn't want to swap. It just has potential impact for how the coins are treated by some exchanges.  Would love to know people's thoughts.

Cheers,
Robots.

Hey guys.
A business worthy of being analyzed and studied, after all, is not every day we found a plan recommended by big names in this forum, so some investment should be carried out and as mentioned above there is a tendency to replace the BTC here in the forum. In conclusion, leaving the optimism aside, we should look seriously at the project proposal, understand the meaning and only then sit back and wait to go to the moon.

Is the project open source? Where can I find the source code? Does your plan have a bug bounty program? Where can I find your GitHub, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack and/or Subreddit? What is the web address for your business?

Hi LeeLuke,

Yes the project is open source.  All of the links to social sites, website and source code can be found in the OP of this thread (link below). The website will be getting an update in the next couple of days.  We don't currently have a bug bounty program, but we're always looking for more people to join the project!

Cheers,

Don't understand the definition of this coin, can you introduce it easily and plainly? And, by the way, why did you choose such a name for your coin? Thanks in advance

What is the Fedoracoin fund for? This project has a bonus program to attract more people. How will you convince the fundraiser? You should give the project access to more people so that they are more interested in and contribute to the project. You should have a better way of convincing them

I'm fine with the old chain disappearing, would rather see TIP(S) traded on as much exchanges as possible.

Been gone for a couple of months.  If the old chain disappears what happens to all of the coins?

Hi Ride22,

The old chain of Tips will continue to trade on Novaexchange.  The project team will also support the wallets we recently upgraded that hold the old chain, for the foreseeable future. That may change in the longer term.

Our planned roadmap development will happen on the new chain, because the tech is a lot better and more suited to the plans we have eg: real time, face to face & online tipping.

Cheers,
Robots.

I value the information u posted but where is ur money stash. I have searched the internet but my efforts produced no result as the efficiency of my search was barely enough to keep my mind working otherwise I would fall victim to all these champagne bottles I cracked before getting to search procedures which as I stated above were a waste of time.

Latest Swap Plans for Tips

We have continued liaising across the widest reach of the Fedora community over the last few months.  Taking all feedback on board, we now plan to implementing the Tips swap at the end of September.  This will allow us to bring the new Fedora technology online, to keep building on the roadmap goals, and even deliver some of our future goals right out of the box. Following the swap, some cool stuff will be default core Tips functionality.

New Tips Features:
  • Faster block times (approaching real time)
  • Smart contracts
  • Privacy features
  • Personal mining only (no more farms)  The swap will occur across all exchanges currently trading Tips. The swap will also be available to holders that store off-exchange, via the Fedora project team site.

Timeline for the swap:
  • July/Aug: Core development of new wallets & chain (COMPLETE)
  • Early Sep: Official announcement via Fedora channels. Exchanges to post swap announcements in parallel (IN PROGRESS)
  • Early Sep - Sep 23: Ongoing messaging to ensure people withdraw from exchanges if they wish. Final wallet QA
  • Sep 24 - Sep 30: Swap takes place on exchange & via tipsco.in project website
  • Oct 1: New chain live!

Participating Exchanges:
  • Altilly.com
  • Coinexchange.io
  • Gate.io
  • Novaexchange.com

For Tips holders based on exchanges, they do not take any actions - in the final week of September the swap will take place.  Just leave your Tips on exchange and your Tips will be converted to the new Fedora Tips. Off-exchange Tips holders can participate at the same time via swap page to be hosted on the official Fedora website www.tipsco.in

Tech Details:
  - Algorithm: CryptoNight V7 variant
  - Swap Rate: 50 to 1
  - Max Cap: 100 Billion

Tips Availability
Some exchanges will only trade the new Fedora Tips after the swap (Coinexchange, Gate), while others will trade both (Altilly, Novaexchange).

The Fedora project team will continue supporting the legacy Tips wallets for the foreseeable future.

The plus for the merchant is that they will have the money immediately after the purchase is completed. No wait time at all.I'd say that's a pretty good incentive for those who buy these tokens
