I hacked together a richlist with some php. You can check it out at chainexplorer.info/richlist.php

do you also want to take the responsibility again of further developing the coin? Smiley
I see you are doing a great job already and I guess the wallet I'm using on mac is your baby Smiley. if you want you can add your name also on the list here.

(I'm trying to get us to start the serious business so we need to know who wants to do what and get organized!)
also what do you think about the algo switching? I think the NXT algo might be a really good one to go for. what do you think? NXT White Paper.

Hi guys i'm back  Grin
I can update italian threads !
Cmon i believe in TIPS 2.0 project !

uh yah, maybe you can also add them to the list of the fedoracoin threads here.

please update and get us some more Italian people Grin

edit: which reminds me of a new category for Brain of TiPS, I just added "Community Managers" and if you are up to it, I put you as the manager of the Italian communities. Sounds good?
This means, when tasks are distributed, new decisions made etc, the community managers will be in the loop and they will be responsible to communicate to their community, and vice versa, get the issues and suggestions from their community to the rest of the brain Smiley

There are 2 other threads in this forum that are now obsolete.  Should'nt these be removed?  It may cause a bit of confusion for someone that searches fedoracoin for the first time.

I actually tried to find out all the threads we already have, and made a list here.

if you found new ones please add them there. I have access to all FedoraCoin account threads and I can either close them or at least put a link at the end to the actual one. Thanks for the suggestion!

How and when can we meet online so as to discuss and thrash out these ideas?

Lets not worry too much about the coin quantities... there must have been a very good reason the initial crew decided on that number. Trading and making a profit off the coin should be the last thing to tackle. Otherwise, if all we are going to do is to cater for altcoin speculators, we could as well let the coin be.

The foremost issue is: What value does TiPS offer to the people at large? What space, in the big picture of the world economy can TiPS offer real value and thus gain its value?

I think real time chat is not necessary (also I think it's difficult especially if we're more than 2 people), in that case we would only need to find a place to concentrate the ideas and make the discussion fruitful. I saw you started editing on the gdrive which is great! I was proposing to create a dedicated forum for TiPS for a while now so we could discuss separate projects like this each in its own thread and make things easier, but I don't think we have that yet. So I can now only think of either doing that on gdrive directly in form of comments, I think there is a chat option too, and we can make the edits directly on the relevant files. we could put this project in a special folder so we can create several files in one place. what do you think?

about the number of coins, I think it's still a good idea to decide on the optimal number of coins, I think trading on btc is important to reach a larger number of customers/community. plus we need to make the decision anyway if we decide to go ahead and create a new coin with new algo.

I like what you propose to make of TiPS and I tend to see those areas also as a really good target:
- wherever "tips" is used, ie small merchants, tipping waiters (evtl convincing them to accept it as payment if we offer the right service), street artists etc
- coupons and value exchange between merchants and customers. I like the idea of using colored TiPS to designate what kind of coupon it is and establish trades between coupons
- and of course online tipping, in chats, between friends etc. (eg. a friend recently tipped me with fedoracoin on the facebook group TiPS4tips for taking care of his cat, he then acknowledged that this thing is actually useful after he was skeptical for a while Smiley, so I think there is room for innovation in online services where TiPS can be used in a useful manner.
- I guess that's it for now, and if we get more stuff in the discussion I will add them all then to the strategy file so we have clear goals ahead of us Wink

Not the rpc-ace type, it's a really light explorer and I only set it up to work as a backup. I'll get to work on an Insight type block explorer soon.
Actually you can enter both hash or block number in the URL of RPC Ace explorer and it take you right to the block.
It doesn't accept addresses though. I'm working on the Insight type, it should be up soon.

Yeah it does not keep a database so not possible to backtrack an address but the author has said he has a database version he maybe releases soon. It would probably have ability to check an address's history.

About that richlist, are we on the same blockchain? I Set aside 50M Tips for this project on EYQdzmdY22BZpM4tWjqptN8EgvrpZMyoUn, which according to the current list, should be at number 11. id10tothe9's donations wallet has over 45M TiPS, that should also show up too. Is there something we are overlooking?

Noticed that as well, have over 570 mil but not on the list...
Found the problem, my php script was only counting transactions up to block 1864. It's slowly catching up now.

Those threads have been useful for my research.  It is not difficult to find the most up-to-date thread, then bookmark it.

Please could someone say where I can find a reliable TIPS block explorer.  The URL will be sufficient.

**The block explorer must have the feature where one can search for blocks and hashes***

That's not a comforting thought. Let me check the daemon. It's probably just my php script messing up though.

MystPhysX: Thanks for the Joke coin... seriously.

I'd been considering creating another altcoin or getting one that is already working to deliver the vision I had. TiPS fits in pretty much nicely and am happy to work with you guys. We can grow this into a formidable force with its own economic value and niche market.
