Can someone give me a list of working nodes please?
Never mind, I got some.

New block explorer at chainexplorer.info it's the rpc-ace type so don't expect too much.

Hey, it's a custom install, running on fedoracha.in.
The problem right now is that the database doesn't handle the large amount of transactions.
I'll try to upgrade to a different database system, see what happens.

Your offer is of course much appreciated, but I understand if you have all coins in a single Abe.
My offer stands, let me know how the upgrade goes. I'll setup a rpc-ace type block explorer in the mean time.

I'll keep you updated.
I upgraded to MariaDB, which held out a lot longer, but InnoDB gave in.
I'll keep at it.

our voting process looks good, also noticed that the new thread is bringing us new attention (read 360 times already)! After we settle on the plan we can start building, meanwhile still looking for devs.

kebwesi, I'm loving your ideas and enthusiasm! will respond tomorrow, gotta go to bed now.

I've got a couple VPS subscriptions. I can setup a vanilla Abe block explorer if you guys want, or if icanprogram still has the css for the older block explorer I can set that up.

Hi

About the Tipping, do we have a strategy? Or is it inspired by the moment?

I'd prefer a clear cut strategy, with a target/deliverables. An example would be to identify people in whichever industry, my pet is Hospitality, so I would select 10 or 20 medium to small players in this industry and tip them a sizeable amount, say 1Mil TiPS, accompanied with an introduction letter outlining how TiPS would add value to their customer service and retention. Meanwhile, I'd negotiate with a few of them to tie down an offer/reward for redeeming TiPS at their establishment. If done right, the offer's/rewards from one service provider can be set up to trade against/with the rewards from another service provider. The end game would be to set out TiPS as the medium of exchange for Tips, Offers, Discounts etc within the Hospitality Industry.

What do you think? Do we have real good copy writers among us?

Edit: I have set aside 50M TiPS (EYQdzmdY22BZpM4tWjqptN8EgvrpZMyoUn) to start this off. 5M TiPS to the best cover letter to go to major Players in the Hospitalism/Tourism Industry that explains the use cases for the 1M TiPS that will be sent to them. The community will decide on the best. A time limit should be imposed so as to move this project forward at a steady clip. The remaining 45M TiPS will be sent out to 45 Firms in the hospitality industry as an introduction to TiPS.

A bit off topic, but I'm loosing my brain cells over trying to get to solomine TIPS on bfgminer.
The directions online for fedoracoin aren't working for me.
Does anyone have xp with setting up .conf files and possibly post a copy of what the steps are to get solomining working?
My wallet is syncing fine, rpcport is 22888, bfgminer set up to proxy, but I can't solomine on my CPU as a test run.
Cheers!

On the subject of getting the blockexplorer back online:
I checked out a couple of home servers, and I can pull it financially. So if anyone can explain to me the "How To" of getting it up and running I'm able to provide this free of charge/donation service, later TIPS 2.0 can be migrated to it.

got this reply on reddit, see if it helps or reply to him there directly if you need further help!

Thanks, I knew that much.
BFGminer solomines with asics fine for me, the problem is TIPS doesn't send any work for my instance, although the miner sees the network and block info. I'll work it out eventually.

edit: I think tomorrow I'm going to create a new Ann thread that we can move to. it will be Ann for TiPS 2.0 with a voting option. what do you think? Smiley

The new thread sounds like a good idea to me....

ok, some links need update in the official thread and I guess I need to change the list of members if the old devs left us. But I created this temporary thread so that we can vote on the current issues and come up with a new team and new strategy. So for now we can vote here: [TiPS 2.0] Voting Thread For The New Strategy

ps. I chose the following title for the final new thread, wanted to post it here to not forget it and see if you like it: "[The Awakening] TiPS 2.0: POS, Reduced Supply Cap, Business Oriented"

that would also be great if you can host the service! let's wait for icanprogram to respond since he has been hosting it up to now..

There are few possibilites:

1. rent server for block explorer
2. pay someone who already has multiple block explorers
3. integrate block explorer into wallet

I would prefer option 3 but that`s just me Smiley

Option 3 sounds quite good.
Does anyone have the skills to implement this? id10tothe9?
Improving the wallet for Tips can be a good sign the coin will live. Plus this can be carried over once changes are made, i.e. POS, reduced # of coins, etc.
Development fund in tips can be raised to who ever volunteers to make a new wallet, given they have the rep and reliability.

agreed! I don't have the skills I'm not a dev, but maybe icanprogram.

How can we get the blockchain explorer working again?
What is the cost to keep it active?

About $20 per month, but it should work at $10.

Still requires an outside server, so that would still cost the same.

I will hopefully donate the needed amount if things go as planned for me financially, need 2-3 weeks time. I can then keep this running for a while. icanprogram you didn't really comment on the TiPS 2.0 proposal, what do you think? how much work would this need?

I have sent 10 million to the TIPS Community Fund now.
1 million for id10tothe9 to use as Facebook Tipping and keep for himself and 9 million for the Coin Advancement being discussed.

I have talked with 2 coin developers that are not interested as they have their own coins to attend to.

Should we go ahead and add the donation contributions address to the #1 page of this thread?
Additionally add it to id10tothe9's sig or some other idea possibly.

ok did both Cheesy
you know of any devs who might want to join us?

great mouseman, I'll send the 1mil over to fb wallet and keep spreading the love.
I wrote to invisibel now on BCT and reddit but he hasn't been active for 6 months on both. If anybody knows how else to reach him it would be appreciated.
so our search for devs will continue for now.

icanprogram, of our previous devs who would you contact and who is available? also maybe you know other programmers who might be interested to join? but we need dedicated people capable of serious work. what do you think of the whole issue, right now I think you are the only dev we have.
