just remove connect statements after you are synced up so you can find other clients on the network

And stop spreading fud, look a the network tab on explorer, 45+ nodes right now on it.  If you are having issues, send a PM, or provide debug.log output so we can look at it.  Usually a good reason it's not working for you, and that checkpoint error, means you are not in sync.

It does work, just delete all files except for the wallet.dat file.

Run the .exe and BAM, it will work.

check your %appdata%\fluttercoin\debug.log file and see if there's anything that indicates why it crashed.

Windows 7, 64 bit. the new wallet crashes once it launches. Any ideas? Is there an older version I can use?

It's not that they are holding your coins hostage.  They are aware of an issue that might impact the transfer for whatever reason.  That is a GOOD thing, otherwise you cannot provide a transID and expect it to get to where it's going.  Mintpal is doing you a favor, thank you is in order!

Coins have to mature to be eligible to stake, this is 30 days (means these coins cannot move for 30 days)

Once you have coins that are mature, you have to open your wallet, and unlock (encrypted).  Once they stake, you can close wallet until next 30 days, or the next time you have coins that are mature.  I open mine about 4-5x a month, a lot more recently, but you don't need to keep it open all the time, but it is good for the network to allow people to sync with you.

If you are having issues syncing properly, there are still clients on 4.5.7 that are way off.  I have tested a full sync from 0 and was successful, but others not so much.  If you are in sync, just download 4.5.10, and replace your qt file.  ALWAYS BACKUP your wallets before ANY change and I mean ANY!  I personally backup all my wallets each week, yes i'm paranoid!

Note: it has been brought to my attention that we should release a client that will ignore the 4.5.7 clients.  If we do this, and you have not upgraded, you will no longer be able to move coins properly.  I would expect this would not happen until the above number gets closer to 80%, but there is no reason to continue on 4.5.7 any longer.

if your old client was in sync, you just replace the exe, no need to resync.  I just synced 4.5.10 from 0, synced right up.

Sync up on 4.5.7 if you want, then load 4.5.10, been using it since release, on 4 personal systems so far, all working perfectly.  Have old one running too, only reason it's in sync is manual checkpoints, which I'm not going to keep doing this forever...

and it looks like Mintpal is up again, testing a transfer from there to my wallet now, EDIT:  just arrived...oh and I have bacon wrapped pork chops in the oven for dinner!

The process is just a little bit slow, but my wallet is now synced (I Hope).

My wallet, that is synced with the same chain of the explorer show the right amount, roughly 101K with about 6k of POS coins

That is PoS, does you wallet balance match ?

There is something strange/wrong with the new explorer. One of my wallet show a wrong coin amount, there are two wrong output TX.

Fluttercoin has the three concepts that are supposed to keep it moving along.

Proof Of Work - bringing new coins in to the economy

Proof Of Stake - rewarding coin holders for holding coins for a while, which in theory should keep the price up as supply and demand factors come in to play

Proof Of Transaction - A small reward for spending coins and putting them back into circulation


The two challenges you have there is that 1) Day traders who are just gaming the market for profit, so there is no staking going on because the cycle is too short.  On the opposite side of that are the buy/mine and holders that hoard coins and just sit on them and wait for the price to go up so they can cash out.

Not really surprising though because its the same problem with the USD and other capitalist economic systems where money is meant to always be in circulation and NOT hoarded by the 20% that just socks it away and keeps it out of circulation.

For every buyer, it is a seller.  Why price would go up if no one sell ? 

You should stop looking at the price and look at the overall picture.  What is volume ?  People sell-buying.  Say I want to buy 5 000 000 FLTs.  How can I now ?  I would drive up the price as hell.  Same if someone need to sell FLT to pay for the car.  He will lower the price as hell.  With volume, we get a healthy market, where whale can not move the market so easily.  If I want to pump FLT price, how much it would cost me ?  Like, 3-4 BTC ?  Volume IS healthy !  Look at Bitcoin.  To drive the price up or down, we do need tons of BTCs.  And stability is good for business, for investors.  And when business and investors enter the show, price goes up. 

So no matter the actual average price - daytrading is healthy for the coin.  Its the way to avoid being raped by whale. 

Price will go up when we gain investors confidence, when we get business using FLT, when we release new features.

Price will go down when we fail at it.

We do need A LOT of traders !  They are welcome. 

I do respect those holding as hell - and in fact, the biggest FLT wallet is with us in the FlutterCoin Skype group, and hes just unable to sell any FLT .

That depend of the market.  When its down, I just buy.  When its up, I just hold.  When its relatively stable, I day trade.  It is good practice for the coin (keep volume up, full the bookorders, allow people to buy or sell more FLT at a time without influencing the price too much, and giving me profits to work on).  We should not forget that Fluttercoin purpose is to be used.  It is why I do push to get an integrated marketplace : that would allow PoT to apply on trading.

And someone pointed to me that MINTPAL exchange publicly said that they are NOT staking coins except if devs ask to.  So there is no reason to think they stake FLT.

That being said, they have nearly 30% of the FLT (if my infos are right), that is a LOT.  I would strongly recommend everyone to cashout out a huge % of FLTs and stake it using the latest client.  Using the new client is mandatory !  Fork issue will vanish if you all use this client - and we then will move on.

Oh and as many one told me (), everyone should keep the minimum on exchanges, and profit from staking in the wallet.  No need to have 1 000 000 FLT on exchange when you just day trade 100 000 FLT max. 

Exchanges owners stake FLT then dump it on the market.  I do prefer us to benefit from staking, not the exchanges !!!

PS: As a side note - as I always says, I would encourage you to daytrade FLT if you are comfortable with it.  It give us visibility via volume - and hey, a little profit is nice to get no ?  Just avoid trading too much imo (you don't want to miss the train).

For my part - I use to daytrade 5-10% of my FLTs.  And I mostly use profit to fund bountys.

Well it is good to see the coin going up again, I bought a bunch between 130-230 Sats , I sold some of the coins to break even at 268, and kept the rest , hoping to see better prices
