Wow, do you mean that folding with 3x1080 for one month enough to buy a 1080ti?
Even with my downtime (May is ugly here with thunderstorms), my FLDC for May cashed out at just over $1,100.  Grin
It's nice when an alt shoots up 9x and, at the same time, BTC shoots up 3x in a 6 moth period. Cool

FLDC on the move!
That moment when it all works out and both FLDC and BTC are at insane levels

3 1080s cashed out enough this month to buy a whole new rig with a shiny new 1080 Ti in it.  Grin

... and folding support WAS REALLY NOT COOL
and refused to tell me the link / relation between points and FLDC.

They just dejected my posts....
That's because despite claims and assumptions, FLDC has no actual affiliation with Stanford's "Folding@home" project. Stanford's people can't give you answers and they aren't going to research and educate themselves about any projects that aren't "officially" affiliated with Stanford's "Folding@home" project.

Asking Stanford's "Folding@home" project staff/volunteers about FLDC issues/questions is akin to calling Verizion and asking for help with the Facebook app on your AT&T phone.  Roll Eyes

Just noticed this coin, it is interesting...
I have watched the video to install fah, but still have no idea how to earn folding coin, so the "Points" is the coin?
It can be confusing to new folks.
A certain amount of FLDC are calculated to be given out to folders each day (currently 250,000 FLDC per day).

The total number of coins for that day gets divided evenly among the total number of points that everyone produced (for example, 284,849,429 yesterday) and that determines the "earned" amount for that day. So, for example, everyone that folded yesterday earned ~0.878 FLDC per 1,000 points.

The amount of folders (and the amount of points they produce) changes the amount that you get, since the amount of coins is fixed at xFLDC per day (and x is reduced by half every 900 days).
The total amount earned is then paid out once per month.

This page allows you to look up the current points/payments.
http://foldingcoin.xyz/?token=FLDC&total=250000&start=2017-05-25&end=2017-05-26
The dates can be edited for any time; and if you're looking up multiple days, just make sure to edit the 250000 to represent 250000 times the number of days (i.e., 7500000 for 30 days).

at least, here you are providing support to people folding and unable to get help from the folding support when we are asking about points and how are they valued and converted in FLDC...

link pretty useful... confirmed to me that I created an accurate UN and my address is listed ... WOO

thanks

One more question: How am I going to convert the points to FLDC? I didn't see any FLDC wallet though  Huh
The dev does the conversion of points to coin and that's how he does the monthly payouts. From a user perspective, it's automatic.
FoldingCoin has no "FoldingCoin wallet". http://counterwallet.io/ is the usual wallet of choice. Counterparty is a platform that handles multiple coins/assets.

So, the points are converted once a month, meaning, when an address folded for 1 full month?

So, the monthly payout to the bitcoin address in "username" (PookTwo_FLDC_XXXXX)?

Sorry to ask such stupid question because I really can't relate to a coin without wallet, haha~~

Sure not they are not stupid questions....

your questions were mine as well, and the answers helped me immediatly

I started folding 2 days ago... and folding support WAS REALLY NOT COOL
and refused to tell me the link / relation between points and FLDC.

They just dejected my posts.... instead of providing a basic nice answer
which would have been helpful for others.

A chance I came here then

Don't waste your time and electricity mining this crap. Once the house of cards falls over its all over for FLDC anyway.

...Folding is the same as mining just differant algo
....
No and no.
Folding isn't even close to mining, and it's not "an algorithm". Folding is a scientific set of steps used in simulating the literal folding and unfolding of proteins.

In mining, GuyA "competes" against GuyB to be the 1st to arrive at a solution to a cryptography based equation. GuyA and GuyB will always be working on the same thing.

In folding, both GuyA and GuyB will go through the many steps to ensure a scientific experiment works. GuyA and GuyB will not always be working on the same thing.

Comparing folding to mining, and saying they are the same thing, is like comparing a car to a tree and saying they are the same because they both have mass. Roll Eyes

Stop denying reality. Grin

Folding from a software perspective is an algorithm. The FAH client downloads work units and folds according to certain instructions.

In folding GuyA and GuyB are both competing to earn as much points as possible just like bitcoin miners compete to have as much hashrate as possible so no folding is mining just a differant kind.

Folding is DEFINITELY not the same as mining.

Folding of random protein shapes is much DIFFERENT than solving algorithms for bitcoin.
