Continuing along with developments last night, I was able to configure the backend framework for the new Proof-of-Location $GEO drops interface.  Working late into the evening, there are still a handful of loose ends and finishing touches that need some further attention.  We will continue with the developments over the weekend.  Keepin' er GEOing!

Hi Weifa!

Just wondering how are you going to prevent possible fake GIS data to be used while collecting GEOs. I mean, anyone can use special programs or devices to emitate his GIS position and thus collect all the coins they want.

And another imortant question - how many developers do you have in your team on a permanent basis? Is this just you?

Asking, as I'm one of the GEO hodlers and considering to enlarge my stake))

It is very important to have a good and big enough team these crypto-rush-days, as any competitor in gis crypto having a team of a few doznes of developers + a strong PR and promotion team can make a progress you made for years in a few monthes and drive further very quick...

P.S. Sorry if my first question is stupid))
We use GIS analyses to detect people who spoof their GPS positions and ban them instantly.  If you spoof, you will be banned.

I am the lead developer for GeoCoin.  Tobler is the original creator and also contributes when they have availability.  There are also many other helpful members of our community who contribute to graphics/design, web development, social media/promotion etc.  We receive advice and guidance from the Ubiq Devs themselves.  As mentioned above we are also partnering with the KryptoTech.io Blockchain Technologies group for their assistance with our wallet backend.

There is no calculation that is perfect. Qubit appears to be sufficiently uncommon that it is alright for the present and very suggested by this network. It will be less inclined to be abused at the beginning.Looking forward to the launch!!!
The Qubit POW chain is now developer abandoned.  In early January, GeoCoin migrated over to the Ubiq Network as an ERC20 token.

Once our new interface launches, the only way to 'mine' the remaining GEO supply will be through Proof-of-Location where users collect GEO right off the map using their smartphone GPS.

Just wanted to help clear up your confusion.

weifa, I don't remember, maybe I asked this question before. How soon will your project be fully presented to the community with geomining, dropping and collecting coins according to your forecasts? (3, 6, 12, 18 months) I can't help myself to wait for it  Grin
We don't have any set release date yet, but we are aiming to have it out into the community this year if we can get everything up and running smoothly.  Still playing around with a few more items in the frontend MapBox interface for concurrency controls and near real-time data updates.  We will have the KryptoTech.io Blockchain Technologies team assist us with the wallet backend setup once the new Ubiq UIP #1 algo has been tested and implemented successfully.

We've got a few other things on the go behind the scenes which could help grow the exposure of the GeoCoin project through marketing/promotions etc.

I also do encourage you all to join the Ubiq Community Discord with the steps posted above if you're interested in seeing how active the Ubiq community truly is!

Will balances stuck on geocoin.cash be credited once the site goes live? Withdrawals have been suspended for over 1.5 years... I have balances on the website from when I previously tested dropping coins, some that even do not appear in the associated deposit address on the old blockchain.
Yes all balances will be credited on geocoin.cash

Excited to announce that we are starting to develop our Proof-of-Location (PoL) $GEO drops.  We will be creating a user interface that will allow the community of users to request GeoCoins be dropped nearby.  We aim to fully automate this process moving forward!  Grin

bitrex in the situation where it is now will not remove the coins by the potential and where there are no revolutions at all. they already trapped themselves that the turnover on the stock exchange fell at times. compare other projects with this, too, there can not be much difference.

VTR be delisted is a danger signal for GEO. Because There are something similar such as low volume ,  big drop ,  weak community and little progress. Sad

Weak community? This thread generates more posts than big ones such as ETN or Substratum (neither are my favorite, but I like to peak there ones in a while); not to mention active discord.

Whole crypto suffered a lot throughout past half year, especially smaller coins, no wonder it has trouble picking back up with little to no marketing unlike bigger coins do. And I would strongly argue with little progress as Weifa is working round the clock and it's displayed with regular updates, seems like we are getting close to have our "coin map" back up and hopefully phone apps soon to follow.

I do not fear bittrex delist, developers stay true to their plan and Geo did pass Bittrex audit half a year ago.

hello guys, just looking how everythings going, looking for insiders info Wink PM
Things are going very well for GeoCoin!  If you'd like to be more involved in the community, we've recently joined the Ubiq Network Discord chat which you can join by following this link: https://discordapp.com/invite/HF6vEGF

Once you join, follow the verification procedures in the #guest channel.  This involves adding in an avatar photo and requesting that a community member verifies you, tell them you're interested in learning more about the GeoCoin project.

Once verified you will gain access to additional private channels, including #geo where we like to hang out and answer community questions.

We had some great success this weekend doing some frontend field testing.  Happy to announce that picking up of $GEO was successful on the new optimized server environment.  We still have some more of the concurrency controls and near real-time data updates to test and debug, but this is exciting progress for sure.  Cool

in relation to volumes there is truth they are really small now but at present it's too early to remind a price value on the reason that this geo service isn't in order yet. once this project has started with geomining and map collecting it would be seen its real price value
We continue to develop and improve upon the front end for the new GeoCashing interface to get it up and running smoothly on the new environment.  We've been actively developing concurrency controls and improving the geojson payload for near real time data updates.  These developments will be combined with the new Ubiq network wallet with the new mining algorithm implemented once it is ready for release.

Just to note the marketplace controls the volume/price, not us developers.  We remain dedicated and excited for the ongoing development and future of the GeoCoin project!
