We'll also have to come up with a way to make search engines distinguish between globe and Globe International Ltd (also using the GLB abbreviation); the first few results pages of Google only mention the latter. Perhaps introduce a catchy adjective before globe or use "globe crypto" as a reference name?

Interesting, how about gl0be ? or maybe use globe crypto as reference and those in the know will just refer to it as globe. Will have to think about this one.

How we can support glb in cryptsy ?

To my knowledge I need to setup a Feature Request  in the Cryptsy Helpdesk. Once this is done you guys will need to comment below it asking Cryptsy to support the currency the more people that comment requesting Globe the larger chance we have of getting accepted.

e.g. https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/35939

or https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/41704

Which means that first we need more people involved otherwise there is no chance getting into cryptsy. Having a proper website, explaining the concepts and advantages on the forums, and giveaways threads are primordial

Hmm, I agree but how many people can we attract without having the system fully automated? Smiley see the paradox. Ok, I will try and spend some time getting more users involved by doing a giveaway this weekend. Maybe give people who support us on Cryptsy more Globes since then we will both have more nodes, users and better change of getting onto Cryptsy. Seem like a good idea?

Ok guys, Thanks for your interest on moving the project forward. Over the coming weekends I hope to do the following in their numbered orders:

1. Use some of the converted Bitcoins to get a VPS and put tax wallet there as it is currently on my home PC.

2. Get a good exchange website trading Globes probably Cryptsy ( Will need your guys support for this Smiley )

3. Use the exchange API to automate the reserve and price mechanism process . Looking at the Cryptsy API it does not seem too difficult to do but may offer a bounty to developers as they can probably make it faster than me.

4. Get some hosting and build a high quality website for Globe (probably do this myself )

5. Once this is all done we can begin advertising.

Regarding the giveaway, I would be more than happy to supply you guys with some coins during the weekend after they are split between reserve and tax but would rather spend my relatively limited time doing whats stated above.

If any of you have a spare server it would be great if you could host some Globe services using the ready-made scripts : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/start-your-globe-business-now-open-source-globe-scripts-to-start-your-busines-360381 . Again not sure if they will work straight away or require some tinkering.

My views on success is that both individuals and business must start using and accepting Globe. Small things like block time don't matter too much. However, advertising without the first 4 steps stated above would not be the best idea as your product would not be fully automated and ready.  Additionally, getting users and businesses from outside the alt-coin community would be a good idea in increasing usage.

Thanks

Thanks for sharing your vision. I can help on getting users and businesses from outside the alt-coins

Only issue is this thread board, it's pretty dead right now. We need to get more people involved, is there any marketing plans? At this point it's hard to tell if it's promising or just dying already

We really need a giveaway, I'm not sure if I have the time to do one at the moment but I can supply some coins if somebody wants to run one.

Otherwise I might be able to write a python script to keep the work minimal.

I agree that would help, I can supply a bit as well if needed.
I'm curious to know sphere's opnion on marketing side and spreading plans, since dev is mentioned as not being his best..

I confirm. Mining with Asic works well too. I'm on Windows 7 64b.

I have an win client for you.

Can I get the current block count and diff. so I can sure it matches.

{
"version" : 80300,
"protocolversion" : 70001,
"walletversion" : 60000,
"balance" : "108.99675052",
"blocks" : 16079,
"timeoffset" : 0,
"connections" : 2,
"proxy" : "",
"difficulty" : 2402.91565657,
"testnet" : false,
"keypoololdest" : 1386385708,
"keypoolsize" : 103,
"paytxfee" : "0.00",
"errors" : ""
}

I can't access the dubug console on ubuntu at the moment but my current block count is 16155 (so yours looks right).

And bfgminer is giving me a diff of 1.97k (i think it just changed down from 2.4k) so yours looks correct there too.

Ok I both picked up where I was on the block chain and did a fresh start, both are the same. Plus the interest seems to have stopped.

I am still not sure if this can be used for Mining for not.
