I'm not sure which part of the demurrage code you just altered, but at a minimum, wouldn't this cause the old client (people who haven't upgraded yet) and the new client to disagree about how many coins someone has available to spend or has sent in a transactions?  At that point you've forked to different, inconsistent versions of the blockchain, I would think.

Ok got the new source code up. I think that was the issue but need to check

Won't changing this parameter cause a hardfork?

Will it ?

I just removed this:
//    mpfr_t rate, mp;
//    mpfr_inits2(113, rate, mp, (mpfr_ptr) 0);
//    mpfr_set_ui(mp,       DEMURRAGE_RATE-1, GMP_RNDN);
//    mpfr_div_ui(rate, mp, DEMURRAGE_RATE,   GMP_RNDN);
//    mpfr_pow_si(mp, rate, nRelativeDepth,   GMP_RNDN);
//
//    int exponent;
//    mpz_t numerator, denominator;
//    mpz_init(numerator);
//    mpz_init(denominator);
//    exponent = mpfr_get_z_exp(numerator, mp);
//    mpz_set_ui(denominator, 1);
//    if ( exponent >= 0 )
//        mpz_mul_2exp(numerator, numerator, exponent);
//    else
//        mpz_mul_2exp(denominator, denominator, -exponent);
//
//    mpfr_clears(rate, mp, (mpfr_ptr) 0);
//
//    mpq adjustment;
//    mpz_set(adjustment.get_num_mpz_t(), numerator);
//    mpz_set(adjustment.get_den_mpz_t(), denominator);
//    adjustment.canonicalize();
//
//    mpz_clear(numerator);
//    mpz_clear(denominator);

//    return adjustment * qInitialValue;

from the code. in main.cpp

the actual block size (nsubsidy) has not changed

Just realized something with transactions. The amount sent slowly decreases. E.g. 250 GLB becomes 249.XXXXX and keeps slowy reducing as new blocks are formed. Its very gradual and not a major issue but a bit annoying. I have noticed this in the Windows QT but am pretty sure it applies to transactions made on Linux.

1. can someone try and send some coins from one linux machine to another and see if this is happening.

2. Can someone also have a look at the source https://github.com/Sphere2013/GlobeCrypto/blob/master/src/ to see whats up.

3. I thought that it may be an issue with the tax but its not 20% and that only applies to new coins being generated not to transactions. The amount being taken its very small and constant.

4. It may be some leftover Freicoin code but i set the demurage rate to 1000000 so that its  ineffective. Can't think of anything else that might be causing this issue.

5. It may be just me? is it? can someone do a transaction on the windows qt as well and check Smiley

Thanks

I built a Mac version of the Globe QT wallet, available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5x2ktm3nrqff5ip/Globecoin-Qt-0.8.3.0-Mac.zip

This wallet may not work on versions of Mac OS X prior to Lion. Also, you may have to put addnodes in your conf to get connected to the network, just like you do for the other versions of the wallet. Once you've run the wallet once, you should be able to create and edit a conf file at /Users//Library/Application\ Support/Globe/globe.conf.

Enjoy!

Thats great thanks. Smiley

Just want to say a couple things. Most devs are not honest about their commitments and capabilities so I want to set the record straight.

1. I do like most people here work mon-fri therefore will only be able to focus on the project during Friday nights and weekends. Unless there is a huge issue.

2. Although I know how to work my way around a computer my true skills lie in Business and Marketing. Therefore I may occasionally need some technical support from great guys such as Tranz

Some details regarding the coin

1. Globes will be sold weekly (Fridays) in exchange for Bitcoin and Litecoin this will back up the currency.

2. I will set up a exchange thread/post in the a couple minutes

3. If people can post requests on altcoin exchanges such as cryptsy to start accepting globe that would be great.

4. If anyone wan'ts to offer their development skills in exchange for some globes please PM or post

Finally Huh  I got cgminer mining at about 375mh.  See what shakes out with some tuning.

I was finally able to get CGminer to work with the windows-qt, putting out 333mh from my block erupter, lets see if i hit any block with this crazy high diff

Other than the Erupter specific stuff, how did you get it to recognize "localhost"?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I used the same settings as I have every other time (o- 127.0.01:rpcport O- rpcusername:rpcpassword). I tried it last night with the cmdline wallet and it wouldn't recognize it. I tried it again with the first windows-qt but it wouldn't sync. I just tried the last build that was posted and it worked with no hassle. I still wasn't able to get BFGminer to work but it really makes no difference as long as one of them is working.

Sorry, very new to mining.
I've added -gen=1 to the shortcut path and when the wallet is opened all 8 cores read 100%.
I'm not getting any GLB in my wallet however, does it usually take a while to produce anything?

Also does the .conf file have to be called anything specific?
How would I go about checking my hash rate using the Windows-Qt method?
Your conf file is in roaming\appdata\globe if you are using win7 flavor and should be named globe.conf. You can check your hash rate by typing getmininginfo in the debug console in the windows client-->Help-->Debug window-->console.

Thanks.

Typing that command I get:

{
"blocks" : 12979,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 1024.00000000,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : true,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 4173436,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

I am still not receiving any coins however and i'm not sure why.
I'm not sure if it could be my config file, is there a simple template to go off?

Thanks again.
