It's far from discrete, it's an ongoing raging battle. Wink

I see discreet accumulation incoming... Right here in this thread.  Grin When moon? Seriously though, I'm always down with any meaningful innovation in the distributed ledger space.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
Indeed ! That's strange!
I've been trying to figure it out and let you know how to do it but the miner crashes!
Are you using the Bminer?

Yeah, using bminer.

I can't get it to launch at all by using their batch file; need to manually launch bminer.exe complete with all the command-line parms inside a cmd prompt window.

Super weird.

And even more super weird when I "echo mycmdline > filename.bat" and then go to launch filename.bat, it shit's itself and doesn't launch properly.

Windows is fucking retarded.

EDIT: Again, this is specific in dealing with difficulties using bminer.exe and grinmint.

here is the line in my .bat file for bminer with grinpool grinmint on win10. bolded italics need your email/rigname/password swapped in and all on a single line of course.

bminer -uri cuckaroo29://BOB%%40GMAIL.COM%%2FRIGNAME:PASSWORD@us-east-stratum.grinmint.com:3416 -api 127.0.0.1:1880

i believe you only need the password once when you 1st set up the miner/worker account. but i left mine in the bat file. poor security on my part but im a lazy sob, and i xfer out the grin once a day anyway.

Damn, looks like i have to install linux for grin now. Maybe i just use my spare laptop for linux wallets. Too bad i can't use it for mining though...

Any miner updates? I'm increasing my Nvidia cards but it would be great to hear amd optimization.

Will be on nicehash soon, profitability will be next to zero, was fun while it lasted.

Does anyone have a working command-line for setting bminer to work on grinmint, honoring the rig name ?

I can't get my miners to honor the "[email protected]/rigname:password" for the command-line, even using escape charachters.

If I specify "[email protected]:password" I'm able to connect just fine with a worker named "default".

Indeed ! That's strange!

Recently a lot of talk about Grin. I heard that Grin is anonymous.
If I buy Grin on the exchange, where to store it?  Which wallet to use?

Unless there has been a new release I'm not aware of, you'll need to run Linux.
https://github.com/mimblewimble/docs/wiki/how-to-use-the-grin-wallet

With the popularity of GRIN though, I'm surprised there's no Windows wallets yet!
Maybe because it's not a simple wallet with a public address, a receive button and a send button like, but instead it's using something new and there's nothing to fork (aka copy/paste).
Making something entirely new for Windows surely takes time.

Since we are talking about pools...
Sparkpool is on holidays. Tongue

Did get a mail saying they would.
Just didn't believe that everything would come to a halt.
My withdraw mail did not arrive today, nor have they replied to my message, and that is a first.

I cant reach f2pool or sparkpool from one internet provider, and it works fine from another... weird  Huh Huh

Maybe it's a sign to go to a pool that isn't dominating the hash rate.  Roll Eyes

And which is not asking for a damn mobile number!

Talking of which... now that I'm done using f2pool I should go change my phone number there to a fake number. That way when they'll sell my personal info they won't give my real number!

Good point, we cannot, any proof maybe?

From the little I've seen & read, double spending is next to impossible. Then again, that means shit.

some one didnt read the WP

MW protocol is based on the proof that on every tx/block the outcome of outputs - inputs = 0

Under $1 Grin is wishful thinking imo, it's not gonna happen.
That would mean, that everybody would stop mining it. They would have to.
And that would be declaring Grin a complete failure - in a few weeks as you mentioned.
I don't see it.

Well... not everybody, just ~75% or so to push the diff low enough to make mining profitable again.
Miners have gone a bit crazy on Grin, I'm taking my and cards off it and putting them on something else in the mean time. I am however picking up more Nvidia cards as Grin and other cuckaroo coins will be popular for a while.

What coin are you suggesting is better to mine right now (w/ reasonable exchange volume on at least mid-tier exchanges.)  From what I see, this is by far the most profitable (esp on 31,) by an order of magnitude.
Not sure, and I may not be keeping my word too much on it, I want to expand my Nvidia holdings, it seems AMD is just a bit too weak at this, there are rumors of a flashing the Vega cards to a a FirePro bios which would enable DirectGMA  and make a vega comparable to a 1080ti since the memory bottleneck would be gone like with DirectGPU.

*You might just be able to flash pro series amd bios to mainstream but the Firepro software checks for certain on board things*

I don't think you're ever gonna get a vega to 1080ti performance.  But it's currently in line w/ a 1070ti - 1080, which isn't bad in my opinion, given the lack of dev focus on AMD at the moment...  I get .44 for c31 on my 64s @ 165W - can do quite a bit better I'm sure, if i was willing to run 200+W.
