Scenario 1: During the Contest 1 - 250 user profiles have been created

Hello Hectorians! HIP 38A has closed and Option 1 passed with 50.48% of the vote. This was an extremely close vote and the voices and concerns of those who voted for option 2 have been noted. We will do our utmost to make good on promises and hope to change your mind and sentiment about this use of these treasury funds.  For those who voted for option 1, we continue to be humbled by your support! The additional funding greatly increases the new company’s ability to expand, aggressively seek further funding and start building hype around The Oikos!

Over the next two months the company will separate in as undisruptive a way as possible. Work on the formalization of the new legal entity has already begun, and we've started reaching back out to existing alternate avenues for funding to inform them of the next steps and timelines.

Hello Hectorians! As mentioned in the last community update, we have a very important HIP to determine the future of The Oikos. This HIP will run in two parts. The first will determine if the community permits The Oikos to be separated into a legal entity that runs independently of Hector Network. The attached document carefully outlines the full details and reason for this move.

If the community votes to separate The Oikos from Hector Network a secondary HIP will follow immediately, providing the community with the opportunity to invest additional funds into the new company.

This is a highly complex topic and an extremely important HIP for the future of one of our largest sub-brands. To ensure the community has complete access to everything they need to make an informed decision, we will run a live AMA via discord stage on Saturday, January 14th 19:30 UTC

Fiat to Crypto is here! We have partnered up with Banxa in order to provide our users the ability to onboard fiat for $HEC, $TOR and $FTM!

Hectorians, Today we have updated the Active Collateral Cap (ACC) for wsHEC in the Institute, so wsHEC can again be used as collateral for borrowing assets. The ACC has been raised to $120,000.

If you want to use your spare HEC for borrowing, you first have to stake the HEC in the dApp and then wrap it into wsHEC, before you can use it as collateral in the Institute. If you already staked your HEC, you only need to wrap it into wsHEC before you can start using it as collateral.

We also heard the wish of people in the community to be able to use HEC or sHEC as collateral in the Institute. We will look into this request and update you once a decision is made. Much love from the Hector Network Team.

Hectorians! At the beginning of the month OLA made some changes to the reward protocol of the rainmaker, this was to ensure everyone would receive the right number of rewards because of the slower block time. In the current month the block time on the blockchain has been more inconsistent than expected, meaning that some of the blocks would complete at a faster rate compared to others. This resulted in the the rainmaker running out of rewards sooner than we scheduled and expected.

During the rainmaker period we’ve seen a slight increase in users and assets being lent and borrowed on Hector Institute. However this has not brought us the expected adoption or use resulting in lower than projected revenue, as such we have decided not to continue with the rainmaker incentives after this trial period.

In the background we’re busy with further in-depth research on various lending and borrowing protocols to see which options could be more profitable for Hector Network to use in a lending and borrowing protocol. In the first weeks of the new year, we will get into meetings with partners to see if they are interested in partnering with us to further develop the Institute into a protocol that can be competitive and bring in more revenue than the current protocol offering.
