The interest rate is going up to about 800% a year for HOdl'd coins - so you'd expect to see your Hold'd amount go up a lot - but of course, those are not spendable until the HOdling period ends. Inflation will also rise, but inflation will not be near as high as the new interest rates.

I have downloaded the new wallet, but I am a bit confused as to where to put my wallet file. Upon opening the wallet, it has my previous transactions, but the HOdl'd amount and Total are different. I don't want to start using it just in case there is a problem that needs to be sorted. Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question!

Existing coin holders will suffer a lot more if there is no interest at all. We are nearly there, go look at how deep each side of the bid/ask is on coinexchange.
