Is there a way to minimize the threads used for mining? using the wallet? for example a quad core to use its 2 threads.

you can try: setgenerate true 2
to use only two threads.

I have now mined 126 hours with 270Hps and got 9 blocks with 450 HOdls. That's enough for me as in 12 months I will be rich! Probably not.
That's a nice haul! Now is the time to mine for sure with such a low net hashrate.

and gpu have no advantages here anyway
having seen how it went with cryptonight, you are probably right.
still, having the time, I'd like to try it: I have an idea on how to make it work on gpu.
that's good i like gpu more, because you can have six on them on a rig, not so much with cpu lol
We will probably see a GPU miner eventually. It is not in the works though atm. The current priority in terms of mining is focused on pools.
