I'm not entirely sure where people are getting that HYPER is a token of sorts. HYPER is a gaming currency. It can be bought, sold, traded, earned etc in and outside of games.
Switching to a platform like NXT will only hurt HYPER as those platforms are not business friendly when it comes to sending out coins to a lot of people at once. Adoption is one of the main keys to success and if businesses can't readily adopt it then they just won't use it.

Hyper community have to understand what is this coin needed for. Where will it derive worth.
Just improve wallet is not enough for that.
We need some ideas how Hyper may be involved in real economic.

I got the mail but...
I've lost a lot of faith in crypto. I keep hoping it will take off, but I'm not sure it will. I'd like to see an alt-coin do well, but either way, I've still got my Hyper, somewhere on a HDD.
I'd be interesting if there were legit services for it, I'd like to send or convert it, but I don't think we can right? I'll check back later, it'd be cool if this got revived nicely.

The HYPER Fund address received a donation of 0.01192103 BTC from someone but they didn't post here to be recognized. If you are the owner of this please claim it so your information can be listed on the Hall of Support. It will also help in case the deadline isn't met and the coins are to be returned.

I sent a PM to everyone who ever posted here, in total 613 members. We got some new responses to voting poll. CryptoDatabase, regarding the blockchain, I will try tomorrow again, because uploading failed (it takes 6 hours with my upload speed). Anyway tomorrow I will try again but this time i will send you an up to date blockchain. But that is all for tonight.
I really appreciate it. My wallet has been running non stop for 24 hours and I have managed to download roughly 85k blocks. With this estimate it will take 10-15 more days to finish syncing this wallet.
The mail you sent out is well written and includes links which is great. It should help the community out a lot in showing that it is still here.

Not yet, I've offered to hold the BTC portion of the Dev fund until a new board can be created to take care of it. My personal information is public though and can easily be found through my domain records, which I've never had hidden.

No one knows exactly what happened, all I know is he really works hard for hyper before he became inactive.

From what he said and shown me it seems like it would be easy to use.
What would be awesome for me right now though is if someone could send me a zipped copy of their blockchain database, blkindex and blk0001 files so I could sync this wallet a lot faster than from block 2 million.
Hmm, well i am synchronized up to block 3337628, that means like 3 days ago and i am missing approx. 9017 blocks. I am not using is everyday....total size of those files are 4.201233 GB. Damn it...I WILL TRY to zip it and send it to your email over dropsend.com. BUT THIS WILL TAKE TIME..What is your email (send me it over PM)?
Ya, the blockchain is massive. I downloaded the copy provided by the chain service folks but it is only synced to block 2 million and I'm doing 2 blocks a second right now. I'll send you some BTC if you are able to do this, will take some time for sure. I'll send my email momentarily.

As it was said in the past, the most logical and optimized way for HYPER salvation is creating a new coin and do a swap. Right? Upgrading just for CPU optimization is frankly not enough, not for this amount of BTC. We would still be facing with the same problem to overcome in the future with more investment.
Right, it would be a waste of money to do one thing for a small fix when for roughly the same amount we could start over.
But even if we decide for this CPU upgrade (approx. 0.40 BTC), there should be a very much needed support from the community. CryptoDatabase, you have done great work so far for the HYPER, but i believe we should set a BTC limit for expressing a support for this upgrade (like max 0.05 BTC donation per community member).
Why? I believe it really doesn't help HYPER in overall future process if there only 1, 2 or even 3 members financed the entire project(s). If there is no support from majority, then all efforts will be in vain in the long term.
I completely agree. If the community does not wish to support the growth of the coin then there is no reason to bother with it.
About setting a final date for fundraising, i find the upcoming 3rd birthday of HYPER as a great turning point in our journey that will determine how things will go
I'm thinking of a closer date, such as 1 week from now. I can't handle 2 more months of this wallet to be honest. Right now I am having to resync the wallet using a fresh wallet.dat because when I use my normal wallet.dat it will kill itself and shut down right when it loads the UI after verifying the blockchain and my addresses. This is my best computer and it can't handle the CPU or RAM usage from loading that wallet.dat and trying to sync.
985k more blocks to sync up and then I will try to import my private keys into the new wallet. If that doesn't work then I'm pretty screwed as I won't be able to send the coins inside of it out.
