I dont think everyone left hyper for good. Most are focusing on projects that are making waves at the moment. I guess they would return if hyper picked up some momentum again. I think we just lack a clear leadership.

It used to be a great community. Actually the guy who started it all was quite fair to start with. I put hyper in my sig and promoted it and forgot about it. I never pushed a request for hyper coins but got 6000 coins given to me and that was quite a sizeable chunk back when it was way higher in value.

It was amazing to see hyper on the shorts in UFC too. I would like to see this one make a come back.

I don't think donations work. We tried in qrk before Its just the same people donating all the time and the rest just sitting back getting the same gains as all the donators. We need to make and incentive to donate.

The incentive to donate is to not see their investment go to nothing. If people don't want to donate, and the poll says they do, then HYPER will die and be forgotten. That should be enough incentive.

MY RED TRUST LEFT BY SCUMBAGS - READ MY SIG
I did reach out to another developer about upgrading hyper to something with a recent and stable code base like pos3 blackcoins latest.

What were we quoted or has anyone had a total price breakdown from another developer as yet?

This developer is available for the next week and I would guess he would not require payment until after its all done and dusted and working.

Although we would have to show ability to pay him for his work of course up front.

Is there something still happening here along the lines of this already or do we still need a good developer.

We could raise the BTC by auctioning off IOU from the dev fund that needs to be liquidated or just do donations I guess.

I would hope we can do somethng before the next bittrex delisting

The person that quoted me this price has worked on several coins, one of which I have been a part of for years now.

0.3 BTC for an Electrum wallet but no server to host the electrum backend, would need our own server
0.4 BTC for an electrum wallet completely set up with a server for 3 months, pricing to be determined after

For other wallets the price depends on the specs and what is wanted.

Beware those that rush and push for people to do something within a time frame. If they're only available for a week then what will we do if something goes wrong after that and nobody is around to fix it? Like with Flappycoin, HYPER will die completely within a short time.

Rushing into something, heedlessly and impatiently, is like nailing the last nail into HYPER coffin. If we gather ourself together and somehow manage to collect necessary amount of BTC, we should not be limited within some fixed time frame. But before reaching that far, choosing a dev and exactly specification we need (want) for HYPER, we need to start with the fundraising.  That is the first step, others will follow.

The poll gave us some directions and guidelines where we are at the moment, although i think 14 votes are really low, i guess majority of people really left for good. But ok, at least we know where we are, right?

So back to the poll results. Some screenshots first.

Based on this two screenshots I see some positive vibration, there is willingness for assistance from the community. And if we convert all suggested donations to BTC (which has to be done, dev is going to be paid in BTC) we are somewhere near 0,44019527 BTC, which is great. Dont you think? I used only numerical inputs and an average for the interval between two numbers. So possible donations might be even higher.

Ok, that is a good news, but there is always a bad one waiting around the corner, right?! So, the first thing we need to set who will be a beneficiary that will hold our donations. That is a must, money for development must be in one place, ready for the dev, when he will finish his job.

So back to the poll results.

Based on those answers, it's quite clear to me, that we want a structure with some notable leader. I see his position as, at this point of a process, as someone who at least knows something little about specification we want from future HYPER (hmm, sounds so familiar, doesn't it) and that is CryptoDatabase.

I dont know if he is willing to take this temporary position but he is the one to whom i would trust my donations. He runs already well known browser based MMORPG game Dragon Knights of Valeria 2. I registered to that game back in May 2015, i still play from time to time, site paid everytime I requested a withdraw and I have never had any problems so far. It feels like there is always something new in the game waiting for us players to discover when we log in. So tell me what you think about that, maybe we can even put this question to vote if many diverse answers arise.

Yeah, and something about Electrum (we all want it so bad). I read it that currently you are unable to spend Electrum staked coins. So that is a bad news, maybe I am wrong, i am not a tech, but still, those who knows, please confirm or reject this statement.

Yeah, and something about Electrum (we all want it so bad). I read it that currently you are unable to spend Electrum staked coins. So that is a bad news, maybe I am wrong, i am not a tech, but still, those who knows, please confirm or reject this statement.

This is correct, coins held in an Electrum wallet will not stake. The network would still need users to run a wallet that can stake. The guy I previously mentioned about wallets is able to do this for us as well but is unable to tell us a price without the proper specifications of the new wallet.

We could keep the same specifications it has now and go with an upgrade of the base code to something more efficient or we could create a new coin using the same name but with new specifications and do a swap on a 1:1 basis.

For the dev fund, I don't mind holding onto it until someone can replace me as it doesn't take any effort to let some coins sit in a wallet but we would also need to set up a board of sorts that would determine what funds are spent where and what they're spent on.

BitcoinPRBuzz offered to write articles for HYPER which is a really big asset to the community. He wrote some articles in the past for HYPERfuture and they attracted a lot of attention and something like this is what HYPER really needs outside of new wallets. The power of the press can uplift the community and draw in new members.

While I'm writing a novel here,

Partnership with other coins who are also making an effort to succeed and have been around for a while and are well established would also help each community. If a pattern of cooperation was implemented then it could benefit the entire crypto community as more and more people start to share ideas and progress with each other instead of the current process of just copying something new and creating a new coin.

I'm not referring to partnerships such as the one with BigUp, but like the one we had with Coin2 where services implemented both coins and supported each other.

Some of the current known problems,

1. High RAM and CPU usage of the HYPER wallet
2. Long load and sync times of the HYPER wallet
3. Existing developer fund is inaccessible
4. Lack of services and games using HYPER or accepting it
5. Lack of buzz being generated around HYPER

Some suggestions on what to spend any available funds on,

1. Source code upgrades and modifications
2. Faucets and games to help spread and promote HYPER
3. Advertising on crypto networks to attract new users
4. Creating new services for HYPER

Services that I can provide if wanted,

1. Hourly faucet via the Crypto Database website, would need funding
2. A HYPER PTC website if someone was willing to run it, conditions would apply of course as servers aren't cheap
3. Occasional updates to the HYPER info website I set up, found here

What do you guys think about rebranding the coin?

Not hyper2.0, but something new, so the coin can be pushed to other exchanges?

I don't feel rebranding HYPER to something new is necessary, even results from the poll, though still being active, is telling the same story. And even many exchanges do not represent something much of improvement. But that is still a plausible option for the future.

Poll is getting more and more responses and even what i had previously stated has changed now. Crazy. CryptoDatabase, thx again...

I sent a mass mail out in DKV asking HYPER users there to visit the poll and give their opinions, hopefully some will partake and can give a bigger oversight into what people want to see happen with HYPER.

Great, i guess it helped, because someone just completed the poll. Thx.

why don't we message every person that has ever posted on this thread and get a poll on here (this forum) what to do and people who will donate some btc to get it started.

[snip]
To send a message to every person that has ever posted here is a great idea, i believe there should be some tool available to crawl that data out. Doing that manually is impractical and time consuming. You have any idea how to do this?

[snip]

I crawled this topic before. Here is the Google Sheet - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vpjWEXFZSFMPHbcB8NJIho9omOC6hhx5gNfoYd7IQF8. Instead of sending everyone a message which can be time consuming, we can maybe use the Bcc function. I complied the list and below is a list separated with comma.

why don't we message every person that has ever posted on this thread and get a poll on here (this forum) what to do and people who will donate some btc to get it started.

I still believe a fresh coin swap with the current dev fund squashed and a new dev tax created per block for future improvements and work.

If donations are slim we can auction the current dev fund off as IOUS on the new coin.

The new dev tax per block can be spent to keep other expenses going like for block explorer etc.

To send a message to every person that has ever posted here is a great idea, i believe there should be some tool available to crawl that data out. Doing that manually is impractical and time consuming. You have any idea how to do this?

Another option for a light wallet would be something like http://moonrush.org/ which is also created by the person I talked to previously about fixing the current HYPER wallet.
Looks very nice, clean, simple and practical. Nice addition, i am sure we will be taking about it when we get that far, in the meantime our focus is on fundraising first. Do you agree?

looks like the project is being resurrected  Shocked Cheesy
I don't think we have come that far. We been talking, yes, but now we should put our talks in action. But no rush, things will happen if we let them.

Will watch for progress  Shocked
Great, I added a REPORT from VOTING POLL #1 (on the Snake game tournament OP, click on spreadsheet, search for "White Book" worksheet, I marked both cells in yellow). So far we have 9 responses, please edit your response if necessary, because I modified some of the questions or added new ones.

Oh, yes, we have 1 registered player, although he comes from 1337 coin community, but he is more than welcome. Cheer up.

Cheer up and stay tuned.

How do I follow a bounty articles
I want to join

Hm, I am sorry but I don't follow? What articles? You mean filling out voting poll #1? If that is the case, just at the end of the Poll put your DOGE address. After some time passes i will randomly pick 10 respondents among all who participated. I will exclude myself from this draw from obvious reasons, but those who entered "none" or "No thank you!", etc., will be included in a draw and if they are drawn those funds will be transferred as a donation for future development of HYPER.
