The team doesn't hold any of the coins that will be distributed to sale contributors.
In simple words: there is no premine.
I guess for bounties there should be some HKG Tokens distributed as rewards.
Not sure if after the token sale things may change by maybe offering Eth bounties.
However the team will know better I'm only guessing here.

I am having some trouble understanding how HKG will be used.
As I understand it, after the hackaton the top project(s) will have an ICO accepting only HKG.
Is this correct in this assumption or am I missing something?

I was getting my head around it on the forum, so
thats how I get it:
- not only top projects - any team participant in the hackathon can mint their custom tokens and swap it to HKG.
Tokens that teams / projects launch are called DST. Decentralised standard team, afaik.
- the teams launch their custom tokens and swap it to HKG also during the hackathon, not just after. But will have to look into a time line again.

No, we're not like the DAO
The DAO looked to replicate a VC fund on the blockchain. We're using the blockchain to allow for peer to peer funding and disrupt the whole model. A safer model.
We do not collect ether in order to redistribute the wealth. We're building a platform for 'backers' and promising projects to meet and collaborate.
Individuals are able to support the camps they like rather than relying on the crowd to come to consensus. So unlike the DAO you control your tokens and can decide which projects you’d like to back. Projects can be built regardless of whether they receive funds or not.
Also, so long as the HKG contract spits out HKG when I throw btc/eth at it (and doesn't allow anyone to somehow cheat and get more HKG than they paid for) it's done it's job. The security of the ETH collected is not a direct concern.
