Polyswarm seems like a very nice and thoroughly thought project but somehow I missed it unnoticed till today. Luckily its not too late now and I have noticed it. Would love to read their whitepaper and other information in-depth and who knows this could be a potential project for my next ICO investment. I will follow the project closely from now.

From checking your website I see you already raised an impressive amount of 15M USD in the pre-sale. So I guess with this amount you already reached your soft-cap, right?

Good idea. ICO is going to start right away, but it doesn't seem that many people pay attention to this thread, is it not the reason why the reward program has not been launched?

Interested in the project, I mainly like projects based on smart contracts / artificial intelligence, as I think this is where most of the success will be within the crypto community, excited to see updates and plans for this project, will read the whitepaper later

I just stumbled over this thread and have a quick look at the homepage.
So I understand that, polyswarm is becoming a decentralized market place for programmers to sell their security programs?

Finally someone is considering the "antivirus" arena. McAfee would be so very pleased. I am happy he is a supporter he knows the field very well; If he is a supporter that has to mean something. Great concept collaboration malware combat using Nectars.

Not only Antivirus but they mentioned IDS, IPS, next generation threat intelligence which will help to investigate files, URLs & network traffic and form consensus regarding malicious intent.

Very interesting project. In which is this really different from OpenBazaar and other decentralized markets? What do you mean by 'threat intelligence'?

Going through the white paper I can't help but be amazed as to how innovative this project is, to say the truth this is coming new to me and there are some things written that I am yet to fully grasp..

"Polyswarm  incentivizes rapid innovation in the $8 .5B/yr anti-virus and automated cyber threat intelligence space with precise economic incentives that reward  timely  and  accurate  threat intelligence concerning the malintent of files, network traffic and URLs"

My question goes thus...

Is polyswarm an anti-virus outfit themselves?

What do you mean by the term 'reward'?

Just came across this project.
"Polyswarm is a decentralized threat intelligence market made possible by Ethereum smart contracts and blockchain technology. "
Seems to be nice projects. I need to read whitepaper and need to get into more detail.

Hi,
The Polyswarm ecosystem is only for industry experts or will there be some new product for ordinary users?

Interesting project will follow to see where this goes but the thread has a lack of pictures, logos and graphics in my opinion

I honestly don't get why threads like these don't get more attention on here, there's a need for systems like Polyswarm in the security realm

Hello and good day. Is there public info about private pre-sale (how much collected for now)? And why so promising project with so low interest in the BitcoinTalk forum? Do you have bounty campaign?

Decentralized IT Security Marketplace PolySwarm Announces Investment from BlockTower Capital https://www.newsbtc.com/press-releases/decentralized-security-marketplace-polyswarm-announces-investment-blocktower-capital/?utm_content=buffer13ecb&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO — February 13, 2018 — Decentralized IT security marketplace PolySwarm today announced an investment from BlockTower Capital, a leading cryptocurrency investment firm. BlockTower Capital launched in August, raising $140 million from backers including Union Square Ventures LLC and Andreessen Horowitz to bring professional trading and portfolio management to emerging digital assets like PolySwarm. PolySwarm is the first marketplace where security experts are incentivized to detect threats and build anti-malware engines to protect consumers and enterprises.

“BlockTower Capital’s support is a huge vote of confidence for PolySwarm’s mission to decentralize IT security through cryptocurrency-based incentives,” said Steve Bassi, CEO of PolySwarm. “We look forward to building on this momentum as we prepare for our public token sale launching February 20.”

Today’s antivirus and IT security market is dominated by single-vendor offerings that often miss emerging threats. PolySwarm incentivizes a global community of security experts to disrupt the $8.5 billion cyber threat intelligence industry, providing enterprises and consumers with unprecedented speed and accuracy in threat detection. By introducing a platform that encourages innovation and competition, the market will reward experts who are best able to protect users.

PolySwarm’s founders built the company out of Narf Industries, LLC, an information security firm that recently completed a blockchain-based identity management project for the Department of Homeland Security as well as cutting-edge information security projects for DARPA. PolySwarm’s advisory board includes former McAfee CIO Mark Tonnesen, alongside renowned information security and blockchain experts Dan Guido, Chris Eagle, Dr. Sergey Bratus, and Carl Hoffman.

The PolySwarm market runs on Nectar (“NCT”), an ERC20-compatible utility token that makes it easy to submit and classify potential threats on the PolySwarm market. Nectar replaces traditional, outdated antivirus and threat-scanning subscription payments. The Nectar token sale begins February 20, 2018.

Dear Polyswarm - please can you let me know a little about the KYC that you will require for ICO investors? Is the min investment 1 ETH or $100 USD of ETH?
I like the idea of this - peer review of fixes and patches which you can push out to individuals or largely vendors of internet security for them to drop to their users sounds good. I understand that the peer review will also depend on the reviews undertaken by the peers - so not just anyone can turn up and start claiming patches are legitimate, they have to be confirmed as such by higher ranking peers. How will this be handled on day one when all users are new?
