Hello.  I have been running 10 of these in a hub and one in the addition USB port on an old laptop.  They are functioning fine.  No DOAs however I do have to reset everything every once and awhile as usually 2 stop hashing.  Once I reset they are good for awhile.

They are getting hot to the touch.  I moved them to a window sill where its cooler and that has helped.

I ordered more and a bigger hub.  I am mining dogecoin.

Just ordered an Orico USB Hub and 5 of the Dualminers. Looking forward to trying them out  Smiley

I used mine on doge for 2 days it ran at 78 to 83 kh/s the whole time with no issues.
I am surprised how well these run.  Cool and quick.  I hope we can get updated firmware and overclock instructions soon too as I think there is lots of room to boost them from the way they run now.

I'd be curious to see what people's reactions are to threads like this: http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/1wpg1j/dont_waste_your_money_on_the_dualminer_usb_miners/

I've ordered one to test, but I don't have high hopes. We'll see how this works out.

They might be dual miners, but I don't know anyone who would be using them in that capacity. LTC only, sure not bad.

My question is can it only mine LTC or any scrypt coin? With all this new power to LTCs, I'm sure the rewards per block is going to drop.

it is 1.5 for scrypt mode so

11 usb miners = 770 kh which is a total of 16 watts
44 usb miners = 3080 kh which is a total of 64 watts
88 usb miners = 6160 kh which is a total of 128 watts

so this is correct

so this is your income at 6 MH

you do know scrypt asic machines are out within months, how can you possibly be going to make a profit from 6 MH?

these are spec'd at 2.5W each so wouldn't that be 225W? You've got 1452W in your calculator.
that's dual mode, i believe 1.5 watts in single mode

Hi DualMiner.
I have a question.
Is there any firmware updates in the works for these?  Also any overclock options or arguments to add to the miner software for enhancements?
So far mine is working well and nice and cool.  I see there are updates in the works for other ASIC scrypt miners I'm hoping there is something being developed for these too.
Thanks

nwools and LukeJr are working on getting BFGMiner support for them  MinePeon will follow soon as it usually does with support for them from what I understand.
I am very much looking forward to MultiMiner and BFG support.  It is a pain running MultiMiner and cgminer on the same system at the same time.

I am wondering does anyone have any codes for overclocking or tweaking yet??
Mine has been running great at 70 to 84 kh/s with no tweaking and the temps are very low I can imagine we could push them a bit more with no adverse effects.

Still nobody running these on minepeon?  Do we know if it's possible?

If it is I'll put up a .075btc bounty if someone can get it up and running.

fly or die
From what I understand you need SHA-256 capability no matter what. It seems that companies have estimated it's better to use a separate chip to do this, paired with one or more scrypt-only chip(s) (since one SHA-256 chip is powerful enough to feed dozens of scrypt chips). The end result is relatively inefficient for USB sticks, and would be far better with a board sporting something like 50 scrypt chips and 1 SHA-256 chip. On the other hand, you get the dual mining/SHA-256 only option, allowing the sticks to keep some usefulness in case scrypt is obsoleted.

How soon before we see an LTC only usb stick miner? I would pay $100 for a ~140 Kh/s unit but not for the current ones.

It may be available already just off the market.  No one is able to buy until they are no longer profitable Smiley
(isn't this the game ASIC companies are playing?)

thats about 2 MH right?

Looks like about 6.3MH/s

(10x70khs)x9= 6.3MH/s
Correct. Pictured is doing ~6.3mh/s. (10x70kh/s)*9=~6.3mh/s
