Too bad, I was very interested in this coin, planned to invest in it, but the fact that they changed the terms of the pre-sale with no advance warning makes it a non-starter for me. No mention was ever made of a 50% allocation between BTC and MSC investment. People were misled to believe both were allowed up to the total Safecoin to be sold.

I hope this helps explain it a bit better. I know we will not please everyone for sure, but I hope we did please the vast majority of supporters.  BitAngels have already said they will honour some of the MSC guys who did miss out, but a fair balance needed to be found and fast as far as I was concerned, otherwise BTC holders would be completely pushed out and that would help nobody at all.

There is a press release now which explains the madness (in the best possible way) of the crowd sale http://launch.it/launch/maidsafe-sells-6-million-of-bitcoin-20-software-in-five-hours

I hope this helps everyone. Remember zero founders shares in this sale, this is a proposition of equals to create a huge community of equals and maidsafe the company will participate like any other company or team in this new network. We have and will make errors in judgement and the sale showed why we should never under-estimate participation, it seems people want this network to succeed but feel left out, this is not the case. We want as many folks as possible to be part of it and if maidsafe do not provide value, then they will not exist. This is correct and fair I think. I am confident we will provide further value, but we have no control to ensure that, only our tenacity and brutal honesty with a little bit of skill and lots of effort will allow us to keep being part of this.

It looks like to me that there is *APPROXIMATELY* (Rough estimate) around 1,200 BTC's left worth of MaidSafeCoins.

I have sent BTC to the BTC address, how can I know I receive this coin?

same boat...manual processing with thousands of txns..could take days?

from Fraser(an official member of MAIDSAFE)

Hi folks,

Just an update for those of you waiting for MaidSafeCoins in return for your Bitcoins.

Viv and myself are at the office trying to process these transactions, but we're having a couple of teething issues which are holding things up slightly.

We've now got a script which we're using to pull the details from the BTC blockchain.  We're feeding this into a Google Drive spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r4fv57JDNkW55P5dnwPmHF3rOhdt1Jn5I2DZFuZfmfU/edit?usp=sharing

All the confirmed transactions up until very recently should now be visible in here.  We've only managed to process a handful of the transfers of MaidSafeCoin back out, since that's where we're seeing issues - quite a few of these transfer attempts appear to have failed.  We want to confirm our process before proceeding too much further, but you should be able to validate from this spreadsheet that any BTC you transferred have been correctly received.  As we manage to send out the MaidSafeCoins, we'll keep the spreadsheet updated so you should be able to check that's correct too.

As soon as we get our process straightened out we'll get back on the manual transfer.  I expect it will be all hands to the pumps when the rest of the staff arrive here in a few hours, so things should go a bit quicker again then.

Sorry for the snag - hopefully we shouldn't be too long getting things rolling again.

Thanks,
Fraser.

I have sent BTC to the BTC address, how can I know I receive this coin?

now, MSC backers can see the token of MaidSafeCoin and the property transactions at
http://www.mymastercoins.com/Investors.aspx?CurrencyID=3  or
https://masterchest.info/lookupsp.aspx?sp=3

the BTC was manual and slower, the MSC was automatic. so, you and other BTC baackers will see coins after the team manually transfering the coins to your BTC sending address. Cheesy

"we are processing the BTC manually, but looks like the Master Protocol guys may automate this for us. We are updating the site now to explain this process and the intention. It seems there may be 24-48 delay on seeing the MSAFE coins, but the blockchain confirms receipt of the BTC and we have created a spreadsheet detailing all the tx that we were using for the manual process."

Could you please provide a link in this thread when the site is updated?

Thank you.

Still remain to be answered:

"Why there are already 456 millions of of MaidSafeCoins out of there?"

Well, so much for investing in this coin.

They are letting whales purchase 900 bitcoin worth?  wtf?

That is the first problem.

The second is I am not at my home computer.  I thought I would have a little more time to send some bitcoin in.  If they just let some whales buy up all the coins in the first couple of days I would be rather upset and would never support this coin.

Their greed and attempt to get as much bitcoin as fast as they can indicates there is at least a little scam potential.  Either that or some very poor judgment.

I think we can be accused of poor judgement or perhaps not building in currency limits to the process better. The current Master Protocol does not allow this, we did find a solution part way through. To implement further rules such as max investment would be difficult as people can just send lots of small amount. I think this Bitcoin system itself would not protect that in any way. We are seeing hundreds of small amounts and that is great. As I said previously my goal is lots of people involved early on.

As far as the greed goes we ended up taking a 40% reduction across the board to try and make sure everyone was compensated evenly as the MSC purchasers (automatic) were swamping the system pushing out the BTC buyers, who had to be manually processed. The flood of MSC caused issues for this sale and the mastercoin systems synchronizing all at the same time. It is settling nw and there are still some BTC buyers to come as there are a few hundred left before the close.

I'm of course perplexed why you even bothered to use such a bad system like Mastercoin.

I think he means , why do 456 million maidsafe(safe) coins already exist, when only mastercoin funds have been accounted for. when that is already more than the premine total if i saw the totals right. so how many will be total premine if already 456 million have gone to mastercoin already

This is exactly what I am wondering too...!?

Maidsafe used the fuckton of MSC that was sent in to convert to the full amount of the IPO immediately so they could begin distributing them to the BTC backers.  That 456 million reflects the maidsafe purchased with MSC, BTC, and whatever is still left unpurchased. One of those really big MSC transactions is the maidsafe team themselves.

Ipo still open  Huh

from what i can tell yes.

But there still a few unknowns, it looks like it will be over at around 9000 btc, can anyone else confirm?

But there is current confusion on the amount that will be given out in the IPO because the total safecoins distributed from mastercoin alone is already more than what was originally thought to be the initial distribution

I bought in a token amount (1 BTC).

The Safecoin folks are were pretty much screwed by the MSC folks.  Think about it,  the MSC that was used to purchase the Maidsafe coins are now 1/2 the purchase price.   Anyway,  let's see how they sort this out.

If they refund the MSC, then there will be a lot MSC folks sceaming bloody murder.
