If we only knew there was so much money to be made in the beginning of Litecoin we would all have been rich...

Edit:  There will be a crypto gathering in Kansas City Missouri on the evening of the 13th. Let me know if anyone wants to come for cake!

It's nearly Litecoin's second birthday. Here's to another two years!

Check the second post, Litecoins "birthday" is the 13th Smiley

Yes it is. October 13th 2011.

That was when it was when it was opened for public mining I guess, but the genesis block was mined on 2011 10 07 so I think of that as it's birth date.
to me public release = birthday

Im still new to this game, can anyone say if its normal to get paid by a pool but it shows  0 confirmations even 8 hours later

If the LTC never gets confirmed by cryptsy and the pool now shows 0 balance, how do I recover that payment.
  Was the transfer missing fees perhaps, its a lower figure then my original balance but maybe that was just their own fees

I tried to join the litecoin forum since I'm not getting any response here, and I'm not getting the activation e-mail.  I've tried the resend function and still don't get it.  I know some mail services (to name all of them I know of: Comcast) can't send e-mail to my e-mail address because they use RBLs  to block outbound e-mail based on domain name while the mafioso idiots that run said RBLs only target the support of popular US-based mail services.  I don't know if this is what is blocking my ability to join, or if I typoed my e-mail address.  Either way, I haven't found a way to fix this from the user end, so I need to know if there is a way I can get help with that, if unactivated accounts go away after a period of time, or if I'll just have to try creating another account with a different e-mail address...

Try adding server=1 to ~/.litecoin/litecoin.conf
Thanks for the suggestion.  It was working before the upgrade and that line is in litecoin.conf.  Also, litecoind getinfo worked after the upgrade until it finished reindexing...
Code:
$ ./litecoind getinfo
{
    "version" : 80307,
    "protocolversion" : 70002,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 145634,
    "timeoffset" : 726,
    "connections" : 10,
    "proxy" : "",
    "difficulty" : 1.03000346,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1344962095,
    "keypoolsize" : 19,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
    "mininput" : 0.00010000,
    "unlocked_until" : 0,
    "errors" : ""
}
...some time later...
Code:
$ ./litecoind getinfo
error: no response from server
...and for the record, here is litecoin.conf:
Code:
server=1
rpcuser=*REMOVED*
rpcpassword=*REMOVED*

#Uncomment to have client mine
#gen=1

#Default
rpcport=9332

#Necessary?
rpcallowip=*

daemon=1

addnode=*REMOVED*
I have been tinkering, but no luck so far.

I upgraded from 0.6.9.2 to 0.8.3.7 linux 64 binaries and now litecoind getinfo doesn't work.  It says "error: no response from server" after a long time and then terminates.  I can run litecoin-qt and it appears functional (fully re-indexed), but it also doesn't respond to litecoind probes.  netstat shows ports open and even connections established with litecoind and litecoin-qt, there is just no response on RPC or solo-mining.  I didn't see anything that would require configuration changes in the release notes.  Anything I missed?  Any suggestions?

Are you going to reset the blockchain or let everyone keep all these premines?  Shocked
There is no premine, just butt hurts who didn't mine when LTC started and expect the world to stop and reset for them Tongue
i.e. if you started mining today and someone in a years time said the same thing you just said, you think LTC should reset for them in a year also?
