First one is better, the reason is, when you fade the coin, the colors change, that way they don't match the colors of the text anymore.

I still like this logo more  Tongue

Sunflowers rules! Sun is powerful stuff Smiley And girls like flowers too. If girls like it, LTC will become known faster because girls love talking and sharing way more than guys do.

When will the litecoin client be updated?

I was wondering the same thing.  The download page shows most of the clients where updated 9 months ago, so I would think those clients are fairly out of date?

I noticed that a few months ago that getblocktemplate was merged into the litecoin code.

What is the reason for the change to the API where it now requires an argument?  With other coin daemons, getblocktemplate can be run without an argument.

This seemingly gratuitous change breaks stratum, among other things.  Just curious about what the reasoning is here.

Stay away from chrome like it's the plaque.

Firefox 32 or 64bit
Palemoon 32 or 64bit
Waterfox 64bit
Cyberfox 64bit

I dumped firefox years ago... cause it's bloated crap.

Any chance of getting a working forum?
https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,2571.0.html

You are correct, it is impossible to register with chromium (I do not have chrome) So, get a FF and be done with it.  Smiley
BTW, bitcointalk.org is broken too, not showing messages correctly in chromium from user on your ignore list - if you use Show/Hide button.

off-topic: I never understood this "chrome/chromium omg it's from google" fetish. Chrome will not let you select individual columns, cells or rows from a table for copy/paste - it's a toy Smiley

I pulled today the latest version. Code compiles fine but now I get:

 EXCEPTION: NSt8ios_base7failureE
CAutoFile::read : end of file
litecoin in Runaway exception

I did clean up the ./litecoin directory but I still get the same exception.

I got the same error after upgrading. I even tried clearing the .litecoin folder and re-downloading the blockchain, but kept getting the same error. I had to go back to commit 2170487 and restore the wallet from a backup.

Unfortunately I haven't had the time to investigate the issue, but the problem seems to lie in one of the April 24/25 commits.

EDIT: ali1234 fixed this bug today in commit dda31c7. It should now be safe to use the latest version from the GitHub repository.
Note that if you have run the buggy code you will have to redownload the blockchain.

rrr.. not that again  Huh
Code:
$ git pull
remote: Counting objects: 7, done.
remote: Compressing objects: 100% (4/4), done.
remote: Total 4 (delta 3), reused 1 (delta 0)
Unpacking objects: 100% (4/4), done.
From git://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin
   7fd4c83..3aaa7ba  master     -> origin/master
Updating 7fd4c83..3aaa7ba
Fast-forward
 src/main.cpp | 4 ++--
 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-)

$ cd src/
$ make clean
$ make -f makefile.unix
And it works again without re-downloading the blockchain etc.

It seems it has something to do with my computer has IPv6 disabled.
If I enable IPv6 it works.

bitcoind versions 0.6.3 and 0.8.1 don't have this problem.

Is it possible to create an online wallet for LTC?
It is taking too much time for my computer to synchronize Sad

Just get a free account at https://miner.ecki.net:444 and create there your personal crypto-currency address for BTC/NMC and/or LTC.
You can trade your currencies in our Exchange as well.
And cashout in Euro, Thai Baht or Australian Dollar.

Sunny regards from holiday island Koh Samui (Thailand),
