I live in the US and want to purchase some LKK. Am I screwed? Every time I try to make a purchase it tells me that LYKKE is not available in the US but they will keep me updated. I really want to get into this on the ground floor.
Unfortunately it's not possible because Lykke is in regulatory processes in the USA. Lykke has a really skilled team in the USA to get that done but it's not possible to give more of an ETA than "hopefully this summer". Once it's done it will still be about early adopting and investing.
you can't buy Lykke in the USA? it is not possible to deposit BTC and buy LKK? how do you check that? IP? the use a VPN. Name and address? then use a fake address.
Thing is: One goal of Lykke is to be very open, attractive and accessible for everyone and everywhere - no matter if it's about a millionaire-forex-trader who lives in Manhattan or a guy who may not even have a bank-account. The KYC-process also reflects that approach. It's meant to be easy to do and also to be fast, while avoiding the risk that ppl mess with it. The guys behind this project are not naive but smart, and they have to be, because Lykke needs to be safe on the legal side to reach it's high ambitions.
That said: Of course they would have to react on "creative attempts" to make fake accounts. Those who try it would increase the risk not to be able to access and use Lykke in future - fully legal with all what it will offer. And that will still be early. Lykke will still be in a base-building process and there will still be price-potential and LKK also won't be the only attractive asset on the platform. It will be about a lot of other assets, including crowdfundings and tons of different features and services.
My advice really is not to risk future potential out of "temporary Fomo".
Btw, that's my advice in general, because the whole space is in an early stage while having so much potential. It's not smart to put all what will come at risk because of actions that may have legal consequences in future and/or at least burn the own credibility. I often think that whenever I see those very talented guys who execute different scam-strategies. Surprisingly often it works out in short-term, but those who are behind such schemes close a lot of future doors before the real show has even started. In the end that will cost them money and in fact that is already the case for many.
