I had a very bad experience with them I tried to open an account then they started talking like the former commies in my country demanding this and that to get access to the account and trade, so needless to say I haven't been able to trade yet. I'm on the road and can't get all the documents they are demanding. It's a very bad experience for me. Hopefully they will chance more to the open freedom model I live so I can get some of their coin.

They're working hard on all fronts, the technology and next releases, the market itself, regulations, business. I understand that it may seem quiet out of public perspective since I know that from my own experience whenever I follow projects I'm invested in (still my focus). But a simple fact is that it takes time to develop quality and especially the next big releases (that can be expected soon), Offchain and Ethereum-implementation, are big ones and need to be as perfect as possible. That's the reason why they test it and after testing it they test it more.

What is also important: A lot of detail-work is often not visible at once, time consuming and wouldn't impress the public if announced - but it's really important. No real progress and quality without that.

With other words: I understand that it sometimes may seem as if not much is happening but everybody who is invested and cares about this project can be sure that whenever he goes to bed, Lykke has made progress and is better than 24 hours before. Lykke never stands still and delivery is not an empty promise.

Btw: All indicators show that Lykke gets significant increasing attention now. Number of KYC-processes is on a high, site traffic is, reddit-subscribers and activity, volume is increasing since some time, price is also nearly ATH (which was yesterday if I'm right and still above $0.2) etc.

Is there already any substantial bootstrapping /  success story happening?

Sorry could not really find that - but that tells me rather - nope.

Or might Shape Shift eat the lunch cause they have business and do 'just' expand a bit ?

Lykke is aiming to be a big community and market so LKK could be used as an internal currency too in the future, but as you said it mostly represents digital shares in the company. But please excuse me, I must say that your question is a little strange, as if getting equity, shareholder rights, voting, dividends and so on are not enough.

There's​ nothing special to LKK as a token or unit compared to a project like Ethereum which is gas for a smart contract platform. What's special about Lykke is its product, service and people behind it. You certainly don't need LKK to be part of it or use the system.

So what benefits/use do people get from buying this coin? Other than equity in the company

It's still not on a extremely high level but growth is accelerating. Site traffic also indicates increasing interest.

In near-term I expect that especially Ethereum-integration and web-based-terminal will have some effect, also the improvements that will come with offchain-settlement. But the real increase will most likely come once Lykke will be usable also for US-citizen. That's not the case until now because of regulatory processes.

Much media attention for this news. Can I also read somewhere about the current amount of users that uses the Lykke platform? Is this growing fast?

Well recently most coins have tripled their value, what's weird about Lykke is that it hasn't even rallied in terms of BTC price yet, I remember that the price at past year ICO was around 8k sats. Of course in terms of fiat it did very well so far as many others but we are still around those figures in BTC pair.

Honestly Lykke is still under heavy development and Ethereum integration with many ERC20 tokens will bring a lot of attention in my opinion, it's much better for it to grow slowly and surely than a meteoric rise. There are not a lot of fully regulated, trustable fiat exchanges out there, people are really underestimating that in my opinion.

the crazies thing with lykke here on bctt is that almost anybody i talking about the coin. there is no topic in Altcoin Discussion. A coin that triplet its value 

Even better: Roots into both "worlds" - as founder of Solarcoin Nick also has a lot of experience in Crypto.
