Juicin' crypto

I had traded quite a few private messages with Brock Holzer, and Dr. Kimoto back in the day. I have the greatest respect for both of these guys, but I'm relatively sure your conclusion is wrong.
Brock certainly has coding talent, but I don't believe he was the force behind Megacoin. He was just as upset with Kimoto not bringing code to the table as anyone. Again, I had many private conversations with him. Kimoto is one of the most private individuals you will find, but I also traded some private emails with him. He helped me out big time, and I feel very safe to say that these guys are not the same person.
I have gone through my email many times, and they both have a complete different style. Both super intelligent, but not the same.

Good try though...  Smiley

VTR you are a nice guy and i know you know your stuff.  please don't be blinded by your attachment to MEGA and kimoto.  it's fine and all you trade the coin and no reason to not keep doing so for mega.  it's good at least fat-boy kim dotcom has taken a strong backing with it from years ago, but dev wise it's not gonna go anywhere anytime soon unless something major is done.  sorry to say, you're wrong.  they ARE the same guy.  at least my knowledge/proof shows a VERY VERY STRONG possibility this is the truth as everything (even the timing) lines up perfectly.

bholzer was early into crypto-alts before it turned into the shit show we know today and before most ppl on this forum, he had some friends trust me.  hence why he left since alts went to hell.  look at how ironically his posts also match for where/when and the amount he "cared" about mega at the time, also his great knowledge of it/etc. and then poof, done...just like kimoto.  HE IS KIMOTO.  a nicely made up shill to manipulate the first crypto masses for mega from the start.  he mined away on pre-launch which was a "fail" *(made up) - the shitty first "launch" of mega before the big real great launch (oh look after he mined all he wanted with buddies), then the hype and first pnd of it...who do you think was behind that?  bam, distribution of all the coins to everyone, he make big coin and just carries along a slow death of false promises as "dr. kimoto chan" lol.  laughable name actually.  shit, tell me how many "dr's" you know in crypto with japanese first name but chinese last name!?  REALLY??

he did pnd before it was fashion and before anyone here knew what it was lol.  it wasn't called that back then...but hey, he made his money and ran his own side biz in real life...thus no need to "bother" with mega, nor octo or murraycoin.  anyways that's just a gist of the info...take it FWIW.  things go a lot deeper down the rabbit hole Wink -  i guess it's a moot point now since his projects are long dead now.  but fuck it, ppl should at least get some closure.  sure many may not believe...but that's because well, not many even (would) know.

Christian,

I think you have pull with the bigger exchanges with LIMX/BSD.  I think the biggest variable is probably going to be BTC38, being the most important one.

The bitcoin code port and BIP implementation, I am assuming this will require a fork?

I think if we can outline a detailed plan or development goals it will be a lot easier to get the community to chip in for a development fund.

Community:  If you are a megacoin support, don't just lurk on this thread, let us know your opinions.

I still support Megacoin, but we aren't going anywhere unless we have an active developer giving us regular feedback.

As I have said all along, at the very least we need to keep the core current. If we can't do that, I'm not sure how we survive.

In the past I worked very hard to raise funds, and the majority of the old development fund came from myself and a few friends who wanted to see Megacoin thrive.
I believe we outlined the development plan more than once back when AWX and ethought were still active, but we never got any of it off the ground.

So my opinion is that we need to see an update that brings us current with the latest core. The wallet needs to look and feel like Kimoto's vision for Megacoin, and incorporate some new features.
Then you will see community interest, and contributions.

Sure would like to know what Kimoto is doing these days...

The old keys are compatible with the new BIP implementation. The core was ready and we have make two release.

Is there still a dev behind this coin?

Not currently.  Kimoto the original developer is no longer active.
.....the problem is that a update not possible is. Never make a update or talk with exchange and pool.
I have build a new core and i hope we can make a big update sometime. My new DUAL KGW3 works now in the new Core from Europecoin.

Interesting! I'll look in to it.

So is megacoin pretty much dead in the water? haven't seen much activity anymore on the megacoin boards since april and also these areas here are rather quiet -is there even any dev still officially attached to this project, if yes, is there any kind of roadmap? Has Kimoto re-appeared anywhere, else or has his pseudonym pretty much gone dark?

It is difficult... i have write a big update for Megacoin (Core >10) with new KGW3 and new BIP 66 and a lots off new functions. No support from community and no donations. It has nobody made the update.
Best Regards Christian

I don't want to sound ungrateful, but what we need is core 12.1 and a wallet that resembles Kimoto's design. It has to be something that doesn't require a patch, and it will likely be accepted by everyone.
Then I'm sure you will see plenty of donations, not to mention added value to your Megacoins. Either that, or we need Kimoto to give us some help. I don't think anyone is holding their breath for either option, but with Bitcoin on the move this is likely the best chance any alt-coin is going to get for a boost.

Thanks for this.  The Megacoin Wallet has been updated and now connects to the network (for now!).

Thanks for the donations at the end of last year.

My donation address is:  MVB27rjvdL36pszWVeBgRMUbc2hQB2Scsz

Thanks for the 1 MEC received on 12 May 2016!

Just sent you a small donation. Per one of your previous posts, you said the mobile wallet would be updated to version 4.0. Is that update still coming?
I will send a more sizable donation when that happens.
