Memorycoin was a nice concept, and the experience from the first launch can really help fine tune it for further development.
Freetrade seems a legit developer (unlike many in this subforum) , and I totally understand why he left, although I don't like it.
Just curious but are you working on any new concept (around the old memorycoin) right now ? Or will you get more involved in ProtoShares ?
Thanks for your kind words - it's been a while since I've heard any in relation to MemoryCoin.
My obligations towards Invictus and ProtoShares are nearly complete now, but I imagine I'll stay involved in a less intense way for some time.
I had been considering a MemoryCoin relaunch. I still think voting for grants in the blockchain could be a feature that leads to huge success. Thoughts on the different areas -
1. Proof Of Work
A new POW with a fast validation time is a must. I have some ideas for tweaks on MPoW that could be helpful for some of the GPU attacks being described now - they need more thought though.
2. Supporting Users
I think I'd want to regard the previous MemoryCoin as an alpha or beta version, and distribute a premine on the new launch to beta participants who showed community spirit in their voting sometime before block 8840. (So hold on to your wallets)
3. Simplified Voting
Send 1 satoshi to your first preference, Send 2 satoshi to your second preference, etc . . . to change first preference, just send 1 satoshi again.
4. Number of grants
1 Grant award - to fund MCF or similar organization which then distributes grants
5. More community involvement in MCF
It might be a while before there is any organization to challenge MCF in the vote. To reduce fears that dev is making a simple grab for funds it would be better to have community oversight and involvement in MCF.
