I can verify found block and successful payout from  http://mnt.ext-pool.net/

Send some hashrate their way to help even out the network.

Same here. I just got payout from 2 blocks.

Needs more miners! We are starting to find non orphaned blocks now. Help us secure this for the coin!

I tried to mine on your pool but Apparently I have to register an alias?

Well, I did that but never received the email I was supposed to.  So I am unable to mine on your pool.  And yes I checked the spam filter.  Help me mine on your pool and I will.

I sent some hash to http://mnt.ext-pool.net/ and it looks like they have found block while I've been mining.  Haven't verified payout yet.

I am also going to keep some hash pointed at http://mcn.extremepool.org

If people using multiple instances/computers to mine would divide those between the various pools or solo mine, that would really help things out.  But http://mcn.extremepool.org  is a great pool and people should continue to use it.  Just spread the hash around if you can.

Please use other Pools and not http://mcn.extremepool.org they could control the Network
you could phrase that a little better presidentcoin.

1.  http://mcn.extremepool.org is currently the #1 pool for mining Mountcoin.
2.  There is nothing wrong with this pool, payouts work and all aspects of this pool are functioning properly.
3.  Due to the fact that this pool works so good, it has acquired the majority of the network hash rate.
4.  This creates an issue for the long term viability of the coin itself.
5.  It is suggested, by me (the operator of http://www.extremepool.org), and presidentcoin, the DEV of Mountcoin, that miners spread the hash rate around to make this coin more viable.
6.  You do not have to mine on a pool, in fact it would be better if there was many solo miners out there, but if you must mine at a pool, spread the hash.
7.  http://mcn.extremepool.org has posted on its site a list of other pools where you can spread your hash too.
8.  http://mcn.extremepool.org in no way is trying to control the network, but it is still better for the coin to spread the hash.

Thank you!

You are absolutely correct.  You are going above and beyond what most pool operators would do.

Keep finding orphans at hashharder because of the high hashrate at other pool.

:\
need more people to swtich.
I am open to suggestions, as I wish to be part of helping this community, as to what you would like me to do with my pool http://mcn.extremepool.org to get some of the miners to switch to other pools.
I think you've already gone above and beyond what most pool operators would do. So I hope this isn't too stupid a suggestion, but what if you shut it down for a few hours? ...just throwing it out there.
well, I could, but that might severally hurt the coin.
that would be one of the reasons you don't want more that 50 % of the network hash at one pool, because if that pool shut down it could hurt the coin.

The only other thing I was thinking to get people's attention was to raise the fee.  But I had punishing miners for no reason. Sad
I'm not even sure raising the fee will drive them away. Look at Minergate, they can have the highest fees and not payout and people still mine there. Smiley

hmm.. well lets give it over tonight, if nothing changes by tomorrow I will come up with a solution.
for now, if they other pool devs who are really wanting to be active with this coin pm me, we need to discuss some options for spreading the hash.
I'm mining on ext-pool.net now, if we don't find a block by tonight I'm giving up on this coin and moving back to QUACK

Well if you go back to quack be sure to go to http://duck.extremepool.org.

sorry I couldn't resist.

Why? You need to wait a bit
Well, if you ask. I have a few reasons. To be blunt:
- Very rocky launch
- Dev who's unsure of himself and doesn't have a clear roadmap
- No innovation in this coin that I can see (and the market will demand)
- In absence the of innovation, no brand identity.
- Very low coin reward & tons of rejects
- Based on the market performance of BoolBerry, which is the most innovative CryptoNote coin since Bytecoin in my opinion, I don't see this coin doing very well in the market.

The only reason I am mining this right now is because the diff is low and I think *maybe* I'll get lucky and pick up some coins with my meager hash rate, and *maybe* Ill get lucky and it'll hit an exchange with a decent rate. But the more I learn the less I believe this will be the case.

hmm.. well lets give it over tonight, if nothing changes by tomorrow I will come up with a solution.
for now, if they other pool devs who are really wanting to be active with this coin pm me, we need to discuss some options for spreading the hash.

One thing you could do to help in the short term is change your pool software so it shows the correct network hash.

Network hash = difficulty / block time  = 1598256 / 25s = 63.93 KHs  (right now)

If people could see accurately how much of the hash is concentrated in your pool they might go use another one out of concern for the network.

I also note that there's been a complete replacement of the whole mountcoin git tree - which is a little concerning?

https://github.com/mountcoin/mountcoin

Original tree including all the commits is moved to:  https://github.com/mountcoin/mountcoin_old

Why lose all the commit history?  If there's an upgrade, just merge it into the existing original tree, that's what version-control is for.
What's changed in this upgrade?

you should read the whole thread before you say something is wrong, because the pool is not reporting wrong.  The pool has the proper equation for the block time, and is what the dev has told me it is.

+1

BTW: If someone don't know it we changed BlockTime from 25 to 60 (to many Orphans),but we work on a new Version with about 30-40sec. This should be implemented in Version 1.9.1 or 1.9.2

A merge don't work. The old and the new Mountcoin are two different Coin (technically), with the same features

We had rebuild Mountcoin that's the reason, the old is under github.com/mountcoin/mountcoin_old

For the beginning we had changed the BlockTime to 60sec, later we drop to about 30-40. So the Hashrate of the Pool is right, but we need wait that the Difficulty sync, because the old Version had a bug at the Difficulty.
