We are hosting our first event on the 28th of February 2018 in Singapore. Come join us if you are in town on that day!

CloudMoolah is a consolidated payment system fully integrated with the Unity Editor. This enables millions of Unity Game Developers to enter and collect in-app revenue from the challenging Southeast Asian markets. What used to be months of payment integration can now be completed in 10 minutes.

In the next phase, we will build the MOO Store, allowing Unity developers to directly publish their games from the Unity platform. MOO Token will be the Token Currency utilised in our gaming ecosystem.

Think: “Mobile gaming Steam Store for Southeast Asia, with an inbuilt Kickstarter for game developers and virtual items marketplace”.

Speaker:
Jonathon Sze is a co-founder of Cloud Alliance and a veteran game industry executive. Successfully built EA Sports™ FIFA Online 2 fan base from 0 to 25 Million in Southeast Asia and managed a 100 man strong publishing arm across Southeast Asia. Prior to Cloud Alliance, Jonathon was a technology manager in iGamesAsia which launched Southeast Asia’s first local online MMORPG game, A3.

Location and Time:

The whitepaper is pretty detailed, great job on that. Based on what I understand, initially it will be MOO and CMP, where CMP is nothing about blockchain, just a virtual currency, while MOO will be the token that investor buy, and can be used to buy CMP with a bonus.

To be honest, this means MOO only value is backed by its ability to get bonus CMP. The CMP and its bonus are all centrally controlled by CloudMoolah company. Even after the phase where you guys put CMP on blockchain, it will be an ERC20 token, and it is already 2019, no one knows which standard is better and suit your needs by that time. If CMP will be on Ethereum, not sure what will happen to Ethereum on 2019, but currently Ethereum is not reliable as a payment method for average people. To transfer CMP, you need Ether, and after the transfer, you cannot return/refund if it is sent to a private address.

Google and Apple are doing ok with their payment system. Right now, imo, the only benefit in using blockchain is the lower cut for develop's revenue. If only CloudMoolah can give developers close to 100% of revenue, which I doubt it would be possible because business, then only blockchain is in good use.

Without debit/credit card, SEA people can use MolPoint or some other similar services. Beside, not sure who will switch from Google Play Store/App Store to CloudMoolah anytime soon.

Thank you very much for the feedback!

Just a few things to add-

The MOO token is a utility token that provides a practical use case for BOTH gamers and developers, which include but are not limited to the following,

for gamers:
  • a conversion bonus to CMP, as mentioned
  • a single universal in-game currency that can be used for all games in MOO store
  • full access to content, items, events, etc. of the top mobile games Made in Unity
  • a secure and instant way to transact in-game, e.g. trading, crowdfunding

and for developers:
  • access to a full-suite of publishing services in SEA at discount (including receiving incubation support from Cloud Alliance)
  • full SEA monetisation coverage once integrated
  • a secure and instant way to transact in-game, e.g. sales of in-game items and promotion of in-game content.

Some context, also, so that it is easier to understand what we're offering in terms of convenience and utility for developers - in Southeast Asia, it typically takes a developer up to six months to integrate with each individual payment partner. This is six months of non-stop work for developers just to manage payment integration. Aside from the above use cases, what we are offering streamlines the payment integration process, and developers benefit the moment they are integrated with our platform.

May I know what is your business strategy? Can your company operates by using only the crowdfunded funds, and leave all revenue to the game developers? I suppose your company already has a good amount of funds, since there are so many partnerships with all the established businesses. Do you really need that amount of money? The store is not publicly available yet, but I suppose it is almost finished/established since it has been under development for a pretty long time.

Thank you for the good questions-
1. Our business strategy, in brief, is to develop, launch and run our two main products - CloudMoolah and the MOO Store - more details can be found in Section 4 of our Whitepaper (https://docsend.com/view/8n3qizs), pages 11-26.
2. Our funds are primarily used for our expenses in developing, launching and running CloudMoolah and the MOO Store. After launch, the running of our MOO Store platform will continue to generate expenses that will need to be covered by a mix of revenue and existing funds. We expect that this balance of revenue and cost will have to be monitored and managed as our business continues to succeed and grow.
3. At present, we are in the midst of developing the MOO Store; our CloudMoolah payment system is already live now on the Unity Editor - please feel free to download the Unity Editor and give it a try!

Afaik, the main issue of the dominant players in mobile game publishing industry, such as Google and Apple are taking a deep cut out of game developers. If you take care of both Game Developers and Players, you might be better than the other companies in some aspect.

Will you open all the sources of your application and CloudMoolah related technology, maybe beside of the tokens-fiat conversion? Can you run CloudMoolah without operating your own server after getting CMP on the blockchain? How feasible do you think of making a currency with unlimited supply and is constant transacting on the Ethereum blockchain? Can you overcome the gas fee required for each transactions on Ethereum.

1) Our platform is an aggregation of many of our partners' systems and codes, many of which are proprietory to them. Also, as it involves payment and security, such disclosure is a strict no-no for us.
2) We are still exploring as putting CMP on the blockchain remains firmly in Phase 3. We will disclose more details in the future.

Your questions have been great! I would like to invite you to our telegram chat, we have a team of community managers ready to answer your questions there too: https://t.me/cloudmoolah

I would like to keep some conversation here, so the conversation can be logged and perhaps lead to some discussion with other members here. Badically 99% of your Telegram group members are there for bounty or something.

Yes, for security concern, cryptocurrency-fiat currency conversion is not encouraged to be open source. But will you open source the smart contract at least?

Can Moolah store support pay-to-use/game application/game?

Here is an example of a working(at least on test net) open sourced Ethereum smart contract in-game currency- https://pocketfulofquarters.com/
The main difference between your company and this little project is they don't have the local partnership for fiat currency conversion, they only use online service for the ETH-Fiat currency conversion.

1. Yes, the smart contract code for the MOO token will be on Github, we will announce when it is ready for public viewing.
2. Yes, we intend that CMP as the in-game currency will allow gamers to pay for their games on the MOO store.
