I've been following the progress here from afar for a while now, trying to decide whether to invest or not.  I understand that implementing PoS has been problematic and the coin has needed to recruit developers to help.

I was wondering though... what is the progress in this respect?  The Github source code has not had any new commits since early May.  Since the code has 0 Forks, I am assuming no one is working on a branch elsewhere.  Is someone developing offline?  If so, can they please made their commits publicly available?  Otherwise, potential investors are not likely to see this coin's development as progressing.

This will most likely happen upon release.

Why be secretive?  Other developers could probably pitch in if they knew what state the progress was in.  It would also alleviate any fears someone might have of a secretive stock-up before release in anticipation of a pump.

There's a long standing known issue with DigiShield, once the wallet goes Proof of Stake this will no longer be an issue.

Interesting...thanks for the info. What's the average transaction time like nowadays?

What's going on with the super long block times? Been over 3 hours without a single confirmation.

To Do:
Release Proof of Stake Wallet - Being Worked on by Blocktech
Mobile Wallet App - (Doesn't NEED to stake, but would be nice).
Multipool
Official block explorer - The NautInsight one is nice, but it's not marked as official (it wouldn't hurt to have that block explorer moved to the nautiluscoin domain)
Video(s) - Make Nautiluscoin promo videos!
Website update - Front page update
Come up with more plans to get naut into the hands of more people and more in the public eye

I'm looking at the one day chart/MACD. Why are people dumping now?

Dont know. Lots of coins have seen some pretty big sells today, maybe people are not feeling good about BTC and want to change to fiat?

That being said, an update from BK would not hurt, if there is one.

A worthwhile feature addition to the wallet  I think (as mentioned by Lord on irc)  would be the addition of social links. Such as the following.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nautiluscoin/
https://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=nautiluscoin
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-naut-nautiluscoin-first-coin-wstabilization-fund-digishield-591114
https://twitter.com/nautiluscoin
The Facebook page same profiles.
Maybe we need a tumblr
And perhaps even display the naut to BTC rate and links to exchanges.

Yep!  I've been getting interested in another coin just because their wallet has buttons directly linking to all their social sites and the people in there are always nice and helpful.

i recommend downloading the vericoin wallet to check out a perfect implementation of that feature.

i recommend downloading the blackcoin wallet to check out a great implementation of Proof Of Stake.

Guys, please don't think i'm EVER advertising other coins here.  I'm just very much into copying/improving the best practices of the competion and avoiding the worst practices/mistakes of the competition.

These are good, but let's not forget the focus on getting merchants involved. People need to actually be able to spend Naut in order for it to catch on. How many people in this thread have bought or had the opportunity to buy something with Naut? Getting added to Moolah's platform was a good start, but let's not stop there.

I've already pointed out that I intend to sell some software I've built for naut.  Also I have my other project that should provide a means for both acquiring and distributing naut.  Usage breeds adoption...

And why is this not in the OP?

That is a very good question.  It is sloppy of us not to keep the Original Post and website completely up to date.  I'm into this pretty hardcore so I know what's done and what's coming.  But a new person might be confused as hell if they read the OP and then start trying to read the last few pages.

i think i might troll a few posts about this during the next few pages  Wink

So I've come into the Naut fold a little later. I have done plenty of research but it's kind if hard to back track through this thread.

I understand BK wants to do a dynamic POS. Can someone please explain to me what this is and the difference between other POS' out there?

Thanks!
A static PoS is one where one is payed a certain, pre-determined %. A dynamic PoS means that the % payed out will vary depending on some external factor. Vericoin uses a PoS where the % rate goes up depending on how many people are staking (keeping their wallets open to help secure the network) at the same time. BK has given hints, but nothing concretely on what exactly he wants to tie the dynamic PoS to. My guess is that he wants to avoid someone copying it before it's ready. Exciting times Smiley

It's obviously still a secret but dynamic is the opposite of static or someing which constantly adapts and changes to its enovironment.

So one can imagine, roughly, what will come out of this although there is room for a big surprise based on creativity.

Mind linking the tweet? I can't seem to find it Sad

Edit: Sorry, nevermind I found it. https://twitter.com/BryceWeiner/status/496356896971190272

Looking back BK stated he was told by someone that the method of PoS he wanted was impossible.

He then pointed out Blocktech told him maybe not.

Seeing as the method of Proof of Stake is something no one else has done before, something new = something cool to me.

But this is merely speculation. I can't say for sure because I haven't been given any info.
Let's hope so Smiley Bryce tweeted earlier today that they were hard at work on testing the Naut update, so it would fit right in with that.

great my copy paste and hopefulness started the speculation(mission accomplished lol)
If BK re-tweets it we can be fairly sure we're on to something!  Cheesy
