If I could give exact date/time I would, but if we miss that date/time then trust is lost.  I want this change to happen as much as anyone else as it has consumed WAY more of my TIME than I can afford to give!
-BK

I fully understand that. And I don't like deadlines myself, it's a horrible way to work.

What then about:

* Letting other people write it up, perhaps even here in the thread.
* Hiring someone who can do all the simpler things, under your supervision.

and most of all:

* Giving just a structured list, perhaps ordered by planned sequence of events, but without any dates?

I meant dates just for PoS - that is all I am focused on right now...then I will finish the business plan for NAUT

If members of the community have projects they think will help the value, by all means go for it!

When can we expect the PoS transition? It's been over 10 days since the code was finished, does it need more testing?

The dev said they were shooting for Thursday. How much of the thread did you read before asking this?

Lol the worst that can happen would be a botched PoS transition so it is great for NAUT that BK and whoever is helping him are being cautious.

What then about, for the "July- and August-action"

* Letting other people write it up, perhaps even here in the thread.
* Offering a bounty, if someone emerges who does this well, just share a few NAUT with him.
* Hiring someone who can do all the simpler things, under your supervision.

ROADMAP ?
I am trying to evaluate my NAUT investment. Essential to know this week's, and this month's, and this summer's plans.
As it is difficult to nail down specific dates, it could also be like "probably end of July", or "late next week"; or give dates, with a lot of buffer time.
Is there a roadmap, a list of dates?
Planned announcements, whitepapers, next versions, coin features, merchant adoption, conference talks, press conferences, google hangouts, games, competitions, etc. pp. ?
Thank you very much!
(EDITED: more ideas)

Yes, this would be greatly appreciated! Smiley

Thanks for the support of my idea. In this fast-paced summer, it seems to become an essential aspect of development, to inform the community about all the plans for the near future.

Absolutely!  BK is a busy guy and there's a lot to do. Cryptoworld moves fast. We should collate ideas, pool our skills/resources (under a project manager) and set bounties  for a range of things naut related.
Is BK taking care of the multipool or should we start making arrangements now? Who owns http://nautpool.com/ ?
Not sure.

Sounds like there is energy in the community to compile such a list.

Damn, we just dropped beneath 20k on Mintpal Shocked Guess people are really spooked about Mintpal, together with a general stillness in the altmarket. I don't think this is just a Naut problem, as most coins are either down or flatlined.

Shocked Shocked not much support on Mintpal
Support is very low for most coins though. I think the recent VRC hack caused a ton of big holders to withdraw their coins and wait things out. We might very well see a very quiet market for a little while until things clear out.

agreed, the biggest problem is not the hack, but the roll-back...IMO...very bad for crypto...but creates an opportunity for coins like NAUT to stand out.  Once we get PoS rolled out we will begin to explore ways to maintain the integrity of the blockchain.

This is the response I wanted to read. Thanks BK!

I also pulled nearly everything out, don't like that pull-back at all. I also think that VRC shouldn't let Mintpal influence their coin or the whole crypto scene.

Its not Mintpal alone. VRC is near-dead without rollback beacuse who invests in a POS coin with 30% of the money supply in the hands of a criminal? No wonder vrc community praises their dev, becasue he save their investment. Still bad and should have never happended imo.

And regarding the price:

Cryptos have a hard time (vrc, nav, other stuff), the price is being surpressed since days, some potential buyers call themselves sidelined (me too) because the uncertainty about pos and our all time dumping miners, it might get cheaper (or not). We just have to make sure that once this coin is POS, that there is a good roadmap (important points in drakoin's last page) and this coin will flourish.

WE Personally I would prefer a date/schedules. This is not a game.

This is not a game.  This is money.
Projections, Targets  = parameters of building trust

So just repost what is known to damper the FUD

PoS Update

We are in the process of making sure the code is stable, we do not want to release anything that is unstable or not secure.  I apologize for the long delay, but implementing PoS into an existing PoW chain is quite complicated.

I will give a loose date of Thursday for the code to be complete and beta testing to begin. I will also send the code to Julian to have it audited.

Thanks for sticking with NAUT and I hope to surprise everyone on time!!!

Thursday 17 July (loose)

You're right this is not a game, this is money, however, games are software, virtual currency is software. Guess what? Both follow development cycles that don't always adhere to specific schedules, because both are software <-- That's the point I'm making, not that crypto is a game, I am fully aware of the fact that it is money, that there is monetary investment here. But I am also completely aware (as a software developer myself, and someone who has followed many a game development, which are, again I restate, software), I understand that security and proper implementation, as well as a solid review of code, and even a well planned distribution (like to exchanges first so that people can trade properly), all tie into making sure it all works properly.

Money does not revolve around patience, software does. So, one last time I state, Virtual Currency Systems are SOFTWARE.

Thank you, though, to BitcoinNational, and BK for emphasizing the loose estimate of the 17th.

Oh and to point out, my project specifically targeted at NAUT, I have a loose estimate of announcement for August 15th. I can't say for certain I will make it. But that's what I'm AIMING for. I don't know what kind of stuff will get in my way preventing me from bringing it to the place I want it to be between then and now. I could have a death in the family, I could have my fiance screaming profanities at me preventing me from actually getting my work done, who knows?

Anyway, I am a long term holder (I have been since day 1), and I will continue to be as long as possible as I personally see NAUT as the best place for my crypto-investments because there seems to be an understanding here that things take time that other alt-cryptos just don't get.

I am also bidding on Mintpal for the NSF...but I do not have a lot of coins on that exchange, just want to try and keep that market in line with others

When can we expect the PoS transition? It's been over 10 days since the code was finished, does it need more testing?

As a PC gamer I learned years ago that "when it is done" is a perfectly reasonable answer.
