  • We extend the swap period indefinitely. If someone comes to us with their old coins at any point in the future we will guarantee their coins can be swapped for the new coin at 1:1.
  • We leave the old Nav market open on your exchange so users can withdraw but also open the new one. We contact the people with the old coin on your exchange and we make them aware of the coin swap process.

I second that and I'm glad that my concerns are finally getting attention!

Any coins which remain unswapped after the final cut off date will be entrusted to the Nav Foundation and used to help cover costs for the 12+ servers we rent to run the anonymous network and to fund Nav Coin's future developments.

Using the leftover amount of coins for staking is ok, but taking them away from their owners is shady. That's not how crypto currencies should work! To avoid any accusations make it at least a very long period - one year or even longer - for manual swaps.

Well hello there!
Personally I would probably go with a 90-120 day timeframe.  Sufficient time to perform the swap (for those that haven't already, myself included), and ample time time for you guys to prepare for the switch.

Hi Everyone,

To keep you updated, we are still trading old NAV on Poloniex at this point in time. We are attempting to resolve the issues with Poloniex owner Tristan directly and we are still confident this will get resolved shortly.

His major concerns are:

  • He doesn't want any NAV investors to lose their coins by missing the swap period.
  • He doesn't think Poloniex has the right to swap users coins without their permission.

I have explained that part of the point of the coin swap was to remove the stolen Cryptsy coins from circulation and I have proposed the following solutions to get us back on Poloniex:

  • We extend the swap period indefinitely. If someone comes to us with their old coins at any point in the future we will guarantee their coins can be swapped for the new coin at 1:1.
  • We leave the old Nav market open on your exchange so users can withdraw but also open the new one. We contact the people with the old coin on your exchange and we make them aware of the coin swap process.

I am still waiting to hear back to see if these are acceptable terms to him. I can't see why they would be rejected, they address his concerns and are pretty reasonable suggestions i think.

What are the communities thoughts on my proposed solutions? Having both markets Poloniex until the old NAV are naturally drained seems reasonable but I want more opinions on having the coin swap open indefinitely. This would mean that Big Vern and / or the Cryptsy hacker could come back at any point and swap their NAV and for that purpose the coin swap is invalid.

Cast your votes here: http://www.poll-maker.com/poll736899x71cB4e4d-30

To be perfectly honest, since we have no idea which wallets were owned by Cyrptsy, the coins could have already been swapped for all we know. However, prolonging the swap period will increase the probability of this happening at some point.

I would suggest we only leave the swap wallets active for a defined period of time and anyone after that, has to go through the dev team directly so we can personally verify their claim.

We can leave this case by case claim open indefinitely and at the dev teams discretion. If in 2 years time someone comes to swap 5million NAV we will be suspicious of course and act appropriately.

We will of course continue our campaign to get on other exchanges also. We are going through the list of exchanges which DASH is traded on and attempting to get the new coin listed on those.

Any thoughts or ideas appreciated!

Craig.

Fall seven times, stand up eight.
We need to follow Xem coins example, Do not sell at low prices if you want to make it big.
Let the volume grow and automatically everyone will take notice.

I think a lot of the people that Hold nav have been holding for a long time their not selling Cheap or at all.
Let the volume grow ? its not a plant we need attention and effort from the community to "Make" the volume grow.

blabla

Me legendary stupid, ignore me plz! (Me going English class)**smiley**

Mods on polo dont even know about the swap. Sending them a link now. Smiley

I have been in direct contact with the owner of Polo, Tristan. Perhaps the mods might help convince him though Smiley

I've been talking to mods today. They suggested I move my coins to the Manual swap. They couldn't say anything about them moving to NAV 2.0 anytime soon.
He suggested me to send a ''new coin'' request.

I think as a community we should fill plenty of those requests.

Here is the link.

Thanks for the link, request filed.

Are there still active NavCoin_3.4.2_Coin_Swap_Wallet nodes?

If not I cannot swap my old coins.

What is the RPC port for the client NavCoin_3.4.2_Coin_Swap_Wallet?

Is it 44440 or 55440?

issue solved, modified navcoin.conf to a lower port, router does not like 44440;

tried running nav 2 on windows 7 and 8 but I get below errors in debug.log

Quote
CAnonSendPool::DoAutomaticDenominating - Last successful anonsend action was too recent
socket recv error 10054
socket recv error 10054
socket recv error 10054
socket recv error 10054
socket recv error 10054

navcoin.conf settings for the old blockchain are as follows:

hmm k.

Please use this conf:

rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=44444
port=44440
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
addnode=95.183.51.15
addnode=5.230.145.133
addnode=95.183.53.184
addnode=95.183.50.54

copy it to "navcoin.conf" . I just tested it and it starts directly to sync.

Sorry for problems you have mate.
