Explorer is humming along.

Do you think we need a pool? Diff is so low that solo mining seems to be good for now.

And I really have no idea how to setup a pool  Grin

Swapped out the firewall for a new one.
Still getting very sluggish performance for the CPU / RAM power behind this.
Going to have to dig a bit more when I have time. There might be outages.

Explorer sync finished.
All looks good.
I have to setup the cron job for the continued sync, but that's for tomorrow.

Speed has not improved much, have to check the firewall make sure there is no issue there, also a tomorrow job :-)

looks good for me as well.

in order to get on some (d)exchanges the code has to be up to date.

Relatively speaking, for a 0.8 branch clone, 0.8.6.1 is kind of up to date.
What is needed is what I stated earlier, checkpoints, seednodes, new releases for Windows / Linux / macOS plus a UPnP fix for the current version of miniupnpc.

can you do it? seems like you know what is missing...

does it make sense to keep meddling with old code or should it be ported to a better algo / erc20 token?
ERC20 NO!!!!!
Changing algo, might, just might, be worthy of a discussion. But it still should be an easily to mine for people.
Just my opinion.

i thought a switch to erc20 could *maybe* make getting listed more easy.
what makes the most sense?

Who cares u can change the algo but the internals will still be there. I mean bad mentality and anchoring bias of the guy who created this coin for u. Increase velocity, move forward and forget about the freelancer whom u paid money for exacerbating the original design. Im cooking pasta lines and thinking of grabbing ur head by hair and drowning it into a large bowl with boiling water.

I finally got an explorer up.
Sort of.
http://explorer.noodlyappendagecoin.net/
Once it finishes syncing I have to make some other changes to it, but it is up.
I want to make sure it syncs with no issues before going ahead and doing other work to it.

It's stupid slow at the moment because I did not put enough CPU cores on it. Once it finises I'll put more power behind it.

-Dave

nice one, i will check a bit later after it finished syncing.

maybe post your NDL donation add Wink

The code is not horrible.

By altcoin standards, it is actually pretty recent code from the 0.8 branch.

What is needed is a new checkpoint and seednodes built into the wallet.

I would also take a pre-configured VHD / VHDX that I can just mount. No configuration changes necessary (other then me setting the IP here) once I get it if it makes someones life easier.

Thanks,

Okay, we need bounties.

100,000 NDL Bounty:

Bounty for whomever provides DaveF with the code for the explorer that requires virtually no work for DaveF except putting it on his server (if that's possible).

1,000,000 NDL Bounty:

Anyone who updates the code on the github and creates windows exe therefrom and gives detailed instructions how to compile it themselves for anyone who wants to (including n00bs).
Update must include new hard-coded "most recent" or "checkpointdata", and the necessary components above for applying the coin to BarterDEX.

No one willing to bite?  Anyone who can do these things want to make a request as to how much for payment?

let's try decentralized exchanges instead.

komodo's barterdex could be worth a try - here are some pointers:

https://komodoplatform.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KPSD/pages/154107956/How+to+add+your+coin+to+BarterDEX

Coin Ticker: NDL
Coin Name: noodlyappendagecoin

rpcport: 9332

I can't find the following in the code.  So, basically, I can't find all the important stuff.

pubtype: 48
taddr: 0
p2shtype: 50
wiftype: 176
txfee: 1000000

Do I need anyone’s permission to add [X] coin to BarterDEX?
https://komodoplatform.com/faq/do-i-need-anyones-permission-to-add-x-coin-to-barterdex/

(Some of the features that must be in the blockchain’s code for the product to work (without additional effort) include Multisig, CLTV, and OP_RETURN.

If those are in the code of the blockchain, adding it to BarterDEX is quite easy.)
not sure about it.
