Rich, change your reward assignment to BURST-32TT-TSAC-HTKW-CC26C, point your miner at pool.burst-team.us, and you're done.

H.

I would but am away from home, not back til Monday, & cannot restart the Miner. Disaster on ninja Today, no payouts...

ninja stuck again on 259373, other pools on 259398, is no one else watching this?

Rich

I watch it when I can, but at 3:30am when it got stalled I was sleeping ......

H.

Is it just due to the daemon crashing? I noticed the daemon crashes not too infrequently on win10, but if you're running on linux you could just put it on an upstart job or something.

Ya, Dev v2 pool is stuck apparently also.  The miner keeps going crazy and shows me mining on new blocks that skip 10 or more at a time.

So, how do I sign up for http://pool.burst-team.us/ ??  Where are the instructions for how to get the various things they want?

Daemon doesn't crash, but seems to get sent a block it refuses to process, and won't move past it without a restart.

say, richi, it was suggested several times now to switch to other pools than ninja... why dont u?  Cheesy
or maybe trying solo mining, it would even help the network

I have swapped round pools a number of times, but when it's running the payouts on ninja are higher. If I can work out how will give solo a try, but the quick maths I have done on the typical number of blocks I find still shows I am better off in a pool . However away from home for a while so cannot change anything for now....

Just does not seem right that with the relatively small number of Miners on ninja, that it goes down so often? If Burst was 10 x the size it is now, here's hoping, things will need to be a lot more robust......

Rich

Relatively few miners? Ninja is close to, if not in excess of, 50% of the hash power of the whole network. That power creates forks, we're working to prevent those, but the easiest fix would be people with a lot of capacity to spread out to other pools and not focus all the power on one pool.

The pools all run on individual hosts - and are NAT'd out of the colo on individual addresses. The pools are not technically going down - they're just on different forks of the chain. We're trying to make this harder to happen - each pool has each other blacklisted, so block confirmations have to come from the network, not another pool. So ninja/burst-team believe they've one a block, others on the network agree with them, the other pools don't and we're forked. What would really help is spreading the hashing power over all the pools. With so much hash power on burst-team and Ninja, it's not hard for them to create forks.
..

IMHO, criss-cross blacklisting the major pools is a bad idea.
A "fork" situation is quite normal and will be resolved quickly
(usually within minutes).

The time needed for that is a function of propagation time.

By blacklisting known major block creators from each other,
you _increase_ propagation time.

This leads to the situation that pools are on different forks
longer than necessary with undesired side effects.

When like 50% of overall hashpower comes from just 2,3,4
pools, these 2,3,4 machines should have each other on their
trusted peerlist. Maybe a code tweak to force them staying
interconnected would help. Blacklisting is the exact opposite
of what is needed here.

What is the reasoning for this blacklisting ?
(I could be wrong on that, though.)

Vaxman,

Yeah, we've reversed that thinking, and now the pools point to each other, which does seem to have helped. I'm also looking at tweaks to a couple of wallet settings that may help prevent forks.

BURSTaker asset takes a little more effort to prepare, and I'm very tired from not getting much sleep during my camping trip with a 2 year old son...

This means, that BURSTaker payouts will happen tomorrow. Thanks! Have a good night from the USA!

Quote
Anyone with kids (3) can relate to that one. No problem enjoy the younger years before they start to talkback and slam doors

Indeed, my family also has 3 children, ages 8, 11, and 2 and a half. The older kids are much easier in a camping scenario, the little one causes mass chaos and loud screams during the night. LOL.

But yea, I got some good sleep for the first time in the last 4 days, and I'll be finishing up the rest of the asset payouts later today.

We will also be starting a CF campaign both here and in QORA to get some funding and find out the direction the community would like to see first.

We have plans for the large hacker challenge PR to be done in the near future, and will be getting it out on as many news channels as possible, have a few who have already agreed, and I've got connections into some others, also looking into reaching out to hacker communities to get people paying attention.

The thing that upsets me, is that BURST was the FIRST coin to have Smart Contracts, but yet whenever they're brought up, BURST isn't mentioned... My goal is to change all of this, and have BURST and QORA mentioned at the top of the Smart Contract Enabled coins, where they should be, since they lead the way in the space. Not to mention the first Cross Chain Transfer, allowing us to have a fully decentralized exchange (currently in development)

I will be making changes to the BURST roadmap page shortly Changes completed on the roadmap page, more coming soon! taking down what has been completed, and adding what we're doing next.

Main focus (unless the CFs lead us in another direction) right now, is PR and getting the word out to the world, of what BURST and QORA can do. That, is very exciting, and will bring many more people to our wonderful community. Thanks!

Thanks for the update dev. Keep up the good work!

I know that BURST will one day be one of the top crypto currencies in the world and everyone will know BURST. I have 100% confidents in this coin and I believe the dev will succeed on what they are setting out to achieve. All good things take time.

I try and promote BURST as much as I can on Twitter and Facebook and I've also got a couple of family members to join and buy BURST. It's funny because they didn't want to invest in Bitcoin when I told them to last year but when I told them about BURST and the assets and where this coin is going, they said get me in straight away lol so I did and now they are thankful they did as the assets have increased in price plus they love the monthly dividends. My self and my family members are looking forward to be able to mine from our mobile devices which is a big game changer in crypto land.

Any update on when we will be able to mine from mobile devices dev? will it be ready by the end of the year?

Thank you for the confidence! We appreciate it! We too believe that one day everyone will know of BURST, and it will be a household name. The only reason that it isn't thus far, is that we had to take time to get development funds in order, etc. Since the coin was released in a totally fair way, not any person had more chance to get coin than any other. I was just a normal community member like everyone else, then decided to offer BURST related services.

The coin is doing some really amazing things, and we'll be doing even more very interesting things in the near future.

I'm very excited to see all of the action on the AE, and will be adding much more power to the payout funding of the assets in the next few weeks as well.

I too, have had a lot of success with just explaining people what BURST can do and what it IS doing, and having them be surprisingly positive about it, even not understanding it fully. So yea, I think when we make the simplified UI with easier-than-bank setups, that will go a long way, tied in with the PR upcoming, things are about to be a lot of fun here in the near future. I'm fully excited.

The performance of the assets is another great indicator of what is to come. I'm very excited for the future of the coin, that's for sure.

Also, with our collaborative efforts with various other coins and projects, there will be some more unique and awesome projects coming very soon too, to get more attention with.

Building businesses on top of these services, will provide stability and somewhere people can look to obtain them. We have a solid idea of what will happen in the future, and we'll keep on with that. Thanks again!

What would make more sense is an AT that does this (in the same manner as the Lottery AT).

It comes down to whether you want to promote the platform or make a profit (ATs can be used for the former but not so much for the latter).

If you use an AT to do this (and I had actually suggested this over a year ago along the lines of what is called "two up" in Australia) then only the fees would be the profit (made by the minters).

In general I am not in favour of gambling but something like a Lottery or a Coin Toss I am okay with (as it is isn't the kind of gambling that leads to addiction).

Indeed, I have also mentioned this to him after you brought it up to me, I will be speaking with you in the next few days about a couple different ideas the team have, as well as getting this coin toss idea done in an AT as well. Thanks for dropping by CIYAM!

To all who don't know, CIYAM is the one who developed the code that runs BURST's Smart Contract (AT) system. He's a very talented developer, who is also helping us with some more stuff behind the scenes for the future of the coin.

If you see him around, make sure to thank him for all of his hard work!

Good to know we still have one of the original devs on board. I mean don't get me wrong, Hard Drive mining is awesome and unique with Burst but there's really no demand if the coins don't serve a purpose that would attract a lot of people.

Isnt CIYAM a scam dev who worked on the scamcoin called QORA?

So he is now here...what wil happen to BURST?

Don't come in here with your trollish posts, QORA is no scam, QORA is one of the best and most advanced coins in the alt space. Also happens to be our 'cousin' coin, which I am now taking over community leadership on...

CIYAM is an EXTREMELY good developer, who wrote not only the AT LANGUAGE, but also many tools that will allow us to do things that cannot be done anywhere else in the crypto space.

The comments like this are completely absurd and have no place here. Please read threads and think about things before coming in and posting nonsense like this.

BURST does not work with ANYONE who has EVER scammed, nor will BURST EVER work with people like this. Our agreement when becoming part of the team bounds us to honor, integrity, and honesty in everything we do, and we're actually out to help people who have been scammed, and hopefully eventually completely rid the crypto space of scammers entirely.

I really don't appreciate your unfounded nonsense posts, take some time to educate yourself next time you feel like coming in with crap like this on a thread.

I am aware that CIYAM has a lot of haters that follow him around (which I can only assume you're one of them...) because he does things that no one else does, and isn't a money hungry greedy dev like the majority involved in scam ridden projects... but coming into the BURST thread is not something you should do if you're wanting to talk crap about him, because as you can see, it will get you nowhere.

Have a great day!
