It is an interesting problem that Beyond the Void will face. As instruments of value, the tokens may be speculated on by non-players, which might make the players' experience less exciting. Sure, it might make people happy that are holding a bunch of NXC, but it might make it very hard to buy the skins that people want.
Does anyone know if the tokens used in the store are going to get redistributed, or are they gone forever?

The shop is complete fail.
Its not integrated into the design of the game.
The counterparty sale bots are much more userfriendly. The processs of buying is too complicated.
Ergo the price is falling without a bottom. No buy support. The next update is miles away.

I hope that some investors listened me and sold it at 7000-8000 before the dump, so they didn't lose money now.

The next big news are coming in 2 months (April), there will be few months of nothing and a big correction, especially now when bitcoin is rising.
The online store looks ridiculous, it is absolutely non user friendly. Players won't buy ETH + Nexium to buy a game asset. There is no sense to have NXC at all, why don't use only ETH instead? That sounds pretty stupid that player need to purchase 2 cryptocurrencies to purchase 1 item in the store.
Please, thedreamer, don't lie to people asking to buy on high right before 2 months of continuos fall before the open beta.

This is the shop's first iteration. While the features work, we understand that it is still not very user friendly. But we will improve this as we go, and for now we don't have players that are not aware of crypto so we don't think it is a huge problem.
However, you are right when you say players won't buy ETH + NXC. Average players are not aware of crypto, so we need to work on this and propose a easy and user friendly way to purchase assets. We are looking at the moment for partnerships in order to achieve this.
Why did we create NXC: because we wanted to create a token specifically for a blockchain & gaming ecosystem. And because we don't want the price of the token we use to depend on announcement in ETH community. We want the Nexium value to depend on the quality of the products.
It is still early in this project, lots of things have to be achieved, we are aware of this. But, every thing is going great and according to schedule (or almost, we missed the shop's deadline by 3 weeks, which is nothing in development timetables).
Launch of the Beyond the Void shop is a big step in the promotion of the game and the beginning of a new stage of attracting players. I think that before the launch of the BTV game developers will do the interface more convenient and user friendly, which just starting their familiarity with the world of cryptocoins.
NXC will be burned on a regular basis:
Every time we sell a newly created item in the shop, we burn 50% of NXC we receive.
