I can understand the why NiceHash did it this way.  Really easy to pickup the code from one server and drop it into another server with no changes.  Much harder to write a process which coordinates between servers.  Unfortunately, the quick fix could cause long term harm for the service.

Odd split to say the least Roll Eyes . Couple that with the horrible multi-algo set up in sgminer and this will be a nightmare to maintain.

I don't know much about the buying/ordering part, but from the providers point of view we are already being paid an average, no matter which orders we are actually working on, right? Why not continue that across servers?

Anyway, the real reason I'm posting is to plug my comparison page  Grin

Yeah, not very happy about this either... Why not just add more servers at the original location? AFAIK not many were complaining about connectivity issues from the states.

I'm really not a fan of forking the service like this.  Sellers will have to watch two or three sites now to determine which is the best paying.  Buyers are going to have to watch two or three sites now to see which has the lowest price.  Sorry, but I feel this is going to dilute the service and make things more complicated for everyone.

I can understand having multiple stratum frontends to spread load out but those frontends should be trunked on the backside so they still operate as a single service.  For the buyers, they should either be able to select an exit point for the lowest latency to their pool or the service should choose an exit point by doing a ping test from the different exit points.

Ya I agree...was scratching my head over this one...

Yep, if this was merely about load balancing then that would be great but setting these up as stand-alone services isn't going to help anyone.

I'm working on updating the Awesome Profit Switcher in Awesome Miner (Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor mining). It is currently switching automatically between NiceHash and TradeMyBit based on highest profitability.

Now when NiceHash is starting up WestHash and AsiaHash, I will go ahead and update the feature to check for highest profitability between those sites as well.

OK I think I just came up with a solution to the price/nice vs west/multi failover thing ... at least for an asic rig that's only doing one algo ... price staggering pool entries ... it's not clean, but it works -

westhash:3334 - p:0.40
nicehash:3334 - p:0.40
westhash:3334 - p:0.35
nicehash:3334 - p:0.35

etc.

It's working in cgminer 4.3.5s2 on my Antminer S2 (which I just remembered doesn't play nice with Nicehash due to the ntime rolling, so I should probably go undo this now that I've proven it works, lol) -

Code:
0: Enabled Dead Quota 1 Prio 0: stratum+tcp://stratum.westhash.com:3334  User:17KbNEFwrv3n3s47UdBLYRsrNw8pKf1wDz.s2 (p=.027 or so)
1: Enabled Dead Quota 1 Prio 1: stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3334  User:17KbNEFwrv3n3s47UdBLYRsrNw8pKf1wDz.s2 (p=.027 or so)
2: Enabled Alive Quota 1 Prio 2: stratum+tcp://us-east2.multipool.us:8888  User:me.s2
3: Enabled Alive Quota 1 Prio 3: stratum+tcp://us-west2.multipool.us:8888  User:me.s2
4: Enabled Dead Quota 1 Prio 4: stratum+tcp://stratum.westhash.com:3334  User:17KbNEFwrv3n3s47UdBLYRsrNw8pKf1wDz.s2 (p=.025 or so)
5: Enabled Alive Quota 1 Prio 5: stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3334  User:17KbNEFwrv3n3s47UdBLYRsrNw8pKf1wDz.s2 (p=.025 or so)

Seeing 0.2427 GH/s on WH X11 but I can't connect at all to the 4xxx port or the 3xxx port with the same settings that have me connected to NH X13 (but as there are no X13 orders up on WH, X11, which is above my threshold, should be opening up) ... something strange going on here ... or maybe the multis are linked somehow??

WH X11 params - f0=0;f1=0;f2=0;f3=12.43;f4=9.478;f5=0;f6=8.08;f7=39.27;c3=0.8477;c4=0.8477;c6=0.8477;c7=1.4362;p=0.3086
NH X11 params - f0=0;f1=0;f2=0;f3=12.43;f4=9.478;f5=0;f6=8.08;f7=39.27;c3=9999;c4=0.8477;c6=0.8477;c7=1.4362;p=0.3086
NH X13 params - f0=0;f1=0;f2=0;f3=12.43;f4=9.478;f5=0;f6=8.08;f7=39.27;c3=9999;c4=0.8477;c6=0.8477;c7=1.4362;p=0.4047

(High cost setting on NH X11 is to keep it out of multialgo selection due to the high difficulty being handed out right now)

Market is independent from the NiceHash.com, however accounting, payments and everything else is fully integrated into a single system.

Can make balance shared between nicehash & westhash too ?
Unpaid balance are not for now ^^

Yes, right now West has a higher payout because of that order at 2BTC/GH/Day on X11 but I am sure this order was placed by the owner of the great web site to lure people into switching to west...

The question will be what will happen when that order runs out, I see the next order is at 0.20 BTC which is actually getting filled.

if you look at nicehash side that order has no chance of getting filled now, actually there isn't an order under 0.50 that is getting filled..

So for right now Westhash is great for buyers but not sellers...

I am assuming the owner will keep the nice 2.0 BTC order up there until things even out but we will see what will happen when that order is gone...

I guess I need to add to my list of pools to check out WestHash and Nice Hash to see which is more profitable...

Thats very nice, but are you going to try to monitor the revenue so they both system will stay close to one another or is it going to be a "free market" where one site can be paying 1BTC/GH/Day and the other 6BTC/GH/DAY on the alog's???

Please let us know, I see right now the X11 paying about 1 BTC/GH/DAY and on Nicehash we are around 0.50... I am sure its due to the fact that we are just starting, but any thoughts on these

Thanks
oren

Yeah, that's a problem because the multialgo doesn't talk ... I can set a price threshold on both, great, but if I set to say > 0.05 or whatever, and they are both > 0.05, but say WH is 0.1 and NH is 0.2, I'm going to be working whichever is higher in my priority list, which may not be the one which is more profitable ...

I switched all my rigs to point to westhash as primary after seeing this announcement, but now I'm wondering if that was a bad idea since NH could be paying better at any given time ...

Providers and Buyers, we are pleased to announce WestHast.com[/b]]WestHast.com - geographically separated system, running as a whole under global NiceHash.com master system.

WestHash.com brings attractive opportunities for providers as well as for buyers. Market is independent from the NiceHash.com, however accounting, payments and everything else is fully integrated into a single system. We delivered WestHash.com to come closer to all those miners and end-target pools, located in western and central USA - to provide better efficiency and also to shuffle the market a bit. And yes, you guessed, in the near future we will also cover Asia by introducing AsiaHash.com. Stay tuned!

We welcome you to try our new WestHash.com system:

Buyers - you can place orders just the same as you are doing it on NiceHash, with the same accounts and the same online wallet.

Providers - you can point miners to stratum.westhash.com with the same rules that applies on NiceHash as well (same ports, multi-algo, etc.).

We wish you lot's of fun and profit by using our global professional cryptocurrency cloud mining service! Thank you!

the law doesnt apply
the only reason the profit went down is because buyers cant refill their orders

The problem with so much hash available now the revenue is getting lower fast too ):

Law of economics, high supply means lower price
