your binary... was it compiled in a 32bit environ?
it seems to be having issues with starting threads.
as a temporary work around for windows users, use a VM to mine, we are barely above ~1k blocks and the difficulty is still very low.
compiled on win7 64 with mingw 32 bit..it seems to be having issues with starting threads.

mingw 64 bit is the one you should use i think.

my home connection is slow, i am downloading dependencies for windows build. it's taking ages.
how much memory do you have on your machine?
1 thread = ~ 1GB
2 thresd = ~1.75 GB
3 threads = ~ 2.5 GB
4 threads = ~ 3.25 GB
care to share the compiled windows version?

Have to be honest though, kind of disappointed with the launch. It's a really nice coin, but I'm afraid I've already missed the window on it.
