Can we actually access our Nxt yet or is the site that is up just a demo version?

I can do escrow if you like, been trading a lot in the MSC thread..

Once the client is available, I'm fine with using you for escrow.  What is your fee?  I'll split the fee with Noitev.

I'm selling 15 Million NXT to 2kool4skewl for 15 BTC.

Since there is no client yet, I will need an escrow...

I'm on a poker site with alt coin project.

I'm not a coder but I was working in poker affiliation before poker black friday.

I'm searching for one dev specialized in cryptos to help us.

If I can make it run soon enough, I'll be happy to make Nxt my first ingame currency and spread it with giveaways if you want to donate.

Anyone interested in the project; feel free to pm me.

And yep an order book is needed

That would be great, hopefully someone here can help.

Oh, BCNext posted in the OP we'd have an exchange ready soon after the launch. An exchange is not easy to create, I'm afraid it won't be launched earlier than on the 3rd of January...

Are you talking about the p2p exchange or a centrelised exchange?
If you need a centreliced exchange you can get one fron bter.com, they offer to create a exchange

Very nice Noitev Smiley
Perhaps you or an assistant guy can open a google doc sheet for including the new bid and ask offers (like one Maxmint organizes for mastercoin) too!
We will also need some, known to be trusted, members to handle the escrow for coming deals.
PS: we also need a guy to run the giveaway in the style mentioned in my previous post. If you are interested, quote this post!

if/when someone organize a bounty (lets say 1,000 nxt for each person) - I donate 4m nxt.
You mean when someone organizes a giveaway (bounties are typically set to get some part of a project done by someone)
If you mean donating for giveaway, I guess you should wait a bit, perhaps one of us could open a giveaway thread and offer people some Nxt in reward for them spreading the word and story of Nxt in other places and to more people (for example to other btt sections, social networks, news services, local communities...)
This is dacoinminster's style of giveaway for mastercoin, which could be very effective: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/paused-giveaway-for-mastercoins-the-new-protocol-layer-built-on-bitcoin-272577
A member post his efforts links and proofs for spreading the word of Nxt + a Nxt account id. Giveaway runner will review the new efforts each weekend once and will send some Nxt to each new poster proportional to the effectiveness of his/her efforts for advertising Nxt!
Giving away a flat 1000Nxt to everyone, in the style of ripple, would bring more harm than benefit to Nxt future ecosystem.
We also need to set some bounties, I was thinking about:
1-500K bounty for a nice youtube video about Nxt;
2-100K for a general article about Nxt;
3-50K for a chineese translation of the above article.
More coming!
PS: perhaps one can open a buyer/seller thread for people to put their bid/ask offers and start trading soon Wink

Dibs, I'll make one now.

It's about time we decide the name for the descendant of Bitcoin.
I support:
Currency name / Currency Code (ISO 4217)

Nxt / XNT  or
Nxt / XNX

"X" is for currencies not issued by a nation state like XAU (gold), XAG (silver)
Bitcoin's proposed code is XBT

We have

Nxt / XNT
Precious / XPR
Bitcoin 2 / XB2

Where can I get to the NXT whitepaper?  Or somewhere else wherein the PoS system used here is described in details?
There is no whitepaper.
You should go through my posts and mr.nxt's responses in this thread. This lays out what the code is supposed to do:

Summary based on my faulty memory (not precisely correct but outlines the idea)
1) difficulty target = constant/value of stake input
2) PoS candidate submission = hash (most recent txn id associated with proof of stake candidate input, block header from previous PoS block, time in seconds)
3) block rejected if timestamp is more than 2 hours in future or if timestamp is earlier than previous block.
4) tiebreaker: block displaced if new valid block appears at same block height, but with earlier timestamp
5) gaming protection 1: stake inputs must sit idle for 2000 blocks before becoming eligible for mining.
6) gaming protection kludge 2: blockchain cannot be rolled back more than 1000 blocks.

What's gaming? You could search over txn ids to get a good pos candidate. The waiting period means that you need to predict the future blockheader 2000 blocks in advance, see kludge 1. To do this you would need to mine all 2000 blocks yourself. Once you have mined 2000 blocks solo, you can construct a chain of arbitrary length by preparing txn ids in advance. This would allow you to overtake the main chain. However, mining 2000 blocks solo will take a very long time. To shut this down, kludge 2 prohibits any large rollback of the chain. (You can think of this as periodic checkpointing. Comparison of very large chains is done by human intervention rather than protocol rules.)

Not an elegant fix, but I was impressed at mr.nxt readiness to plug holes I found in his design. I would have assigned each satoshi a unique and permanent id at genesis, so that you couldn't affect the candidate hash by shifitng coins to a new address. I think this is a lot more work though.

And whats up with the deposit multipliers.. it seems kind of sketchy. I like the way MasterCoin was started better... no multipliers at all, there was a direct linear correlation to the number of BTC sent in and the number of MasterCoins received.

This is incorrect. Mastercoin was issued at a rate of 100 msc/btc, with a bonus from 40% to 0% depending on how early you sent Bitcoins to the Exodus address.

Thank you for correcting me, I was not aware. This makes me look at Mastercoin in a different light also...

What makes this better than MasterCoin?

No wasting of electricity required. Also, MasterCoin can be forced to move to other blockchain which would be inconvenient.

Can't address this.

So, when is release? Next week or have I misunderstood?

Kinda. All depends on how quickly we supply all necessary data (absent hashes and account ids).
