OPAL has re-appeared on:

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/opal/
and
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/opal/

Looks like it is coming back to life!!

If OPAL is still a supernet core coin then this might be more than just another zombie  coin pump attemp, could be a genuine lazarus coin!

Next should be FIBRE, anothe supernet core coin that needs some love.

I can't believe noone has bothered to update the PoS code base in full since 2013.

Yeah it has some glitches during PoS. Completely stops producing coins after a half day or so of staking.

First,  I will bring the source code up to date if it is possible. Then i will explore the file sharing concept. In a few days i will submit either a resignation or code for you guys to test out. Please note, i do not do windows builds as of yet. For now It is purely source code. I will look into windows builds at a later time. I would prefer to sign all executables with my PGP sig.

Check it out Komodo says it is Open for dPoW.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.17251707

Since OPAL is already on the SuperNET it could do a Soft Fork and become the first coin to get in on Komodo or create their own Notary nodes. They said it isn't that hard to just use Komodo but could do it alone too. JL777 allowed OPAL on the SuperNET so it needs to come back to life and be viable again as the Silver speedy coin vs Komodo and BitCoin confirms. They said OPAL could use LiteCoin's hashrate too.

This is the direction to go if you ask me. Only because OPAL is already on the SuperNET and what better compliment to add to the creator of the SuperNET than a coin they already hosted with the new functions of the coin they just created for dPoW.

With encrypted file sharing integration to top it off...

Coincidentally my 777th post!

Let me take a look, meanwhile, it's taking much longer than expected to bring the code up to date. I can't believe noone has bothered to update the PoS code base in full since 2013.

Maybe Opal should do Delayed Proof of Work with LiteCoin. It will be the Silver on the SuperNet! JL777 allowed Opal into the SuperNet so give it a purpose now!

I was referred here from my thread :- Blockchain Mechanic's Revival Thread

I am working on reviving coins that have active followings and have either been abandoned by their devs, or the dev has no clue  Tongue

If you are open to my working on this , please respond here on in my thread. I'll need a link to the current source code.

Thanks.

Yeah, go for it, Opal was a SuperNET core coin with an inside lane for trading on the InstantDEX

Did SuperNet ever become a reality...is it even still being developed ? InstantDEx? By "WAS", i take it it is no longer part of those?

Yes, most definitely,  SuperNET is just about to launch, search for Komodo on this forum. InstantDEX is launching soon also, as part of Komodo. Something should be up in the next couple of weeks. No exaggeration,  Komodo and SuperNET and InstantDEx (decentralised exchange) are going to change crypto. Komodo coin is using zCash tech. You really need to take a look, worth spending some time seeing what's planned, especially the delayed PoW. Very well thought out platform, and Opal and Fibre both had ring side positions as SuperNET core coins. SN is the investment fund, Komodo and InstantDEX are the tech, there's also Iguana tech ... too much to explain here, you need to go to the Komodo thread and start reading.

Give it a shot, there were lots of people interested initially with file sharing. Opal just couldn't compete or deliver.

Hey,

CryptoGiveaways.org is in its final stages and we would like some from the OPAL team to test our services and ensure all data held by us is up to date and kept up to date.

If you would like to take lead on the OPAL front please drop me a PM, I have PM'd the bct user OpalTeam but not had a response yet.

The BCT thread is : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/launched-cryptogiveawaysorg-faucet-claim-btc-ok-emc2-ozc-grn-and-dmd-1025843

So where are you CoolCash??

I saw him post in Komodo, he is probably invested in a notary node and that would take up a lot of time, that coin is a JL777 coin and this coin was a JL777 gateway to SuperNet. The concept of the Anon Team also on Komodo only a few devs were not anon. Just seems interesting to say the least...

Busy or not, it would only be a matter of minutes for him to post a "hello" here just to let us all know that he is alive and well and still committed to OPAL's  development.
