i read the papers and i love the idea that u can store and retrieve files in a decentralized, anonymous, secure, and reliable manner!

I am backing this thing up, it really shows great potential and i am very curious of further development. I hope i can be one of those persons who can say: I was there when it al started!

Looking forward to see where this project going to be in the future. Smiley One of the best ideas I've seen this year
as I spend many time on the internet (also on my smart phone) and some ads are really annoying (especially on the cell phone).

Hail Eris!
As a computer scientist I love their white paper.  ICOs which are not thought out or are scams have more flashy fliers and videos than a serious whitepaper which can pass some sort of crypto peer review.

Can we somehow start making use of the term 'sand'?   After all you put sand into oysters to make pearls.

Waw I really liked the idea about Oyster Protocol after watching the video, Wich explains it's different approach to getting content publishers and content consumers to reach equilibrium and cooperation

On the surface this scenario seems much like the revenue generated by hosting 'mining' snippets but in additional it performs actual needed services such as data storage.

This is an interesting concept with an actual product and potential to say the least. I'm looking forward to further developments along such lines.

Hail Eris!
Given the chance to opt in to ads or opt in to letting your computer generate revenue by supporting data storage and transmission - I would totally lend my computer.

What happens if the revenue generated through pearls for a website is less than it is generated using ads?  Will users be able to opt out of ads and completely use Oyster?  If so how can we get website owners to use oyster if and when ads generate more and a lot of people are opting out of them?

Hi, this sounds like a very useful and interesting project.
Hopefully it works out as you planned.
I didn’t really get how the cpu gpu of the user is used.

All the best for the project....IOTA is great

The idea seems really good ! I think a lot of web pages could  use both, like a combination of Ad revenue and Oyster. I will follow your project.
Good luck!

Looks interesting and I am excited to watch it grow!

Couple of things to note:

1. We should not overlook the fact that we can get away from one-sided political ads!

2. I assume we can use it on the Bitcoin Forum to get rid of ads here as well?  Wink

Future is on anonymous and decentralized secure storages. Seems like this project implementation with great team idea will be most used.

Hail Eris!
Letting users support website owners with their own computers to generate storage and processing revenue rather than viewing ads will lessen the need for advertisements somewhat.

What are other ways users could reduce the cost of web frameworks with their own computers?  I know there are some 'decentralized search engine' projects going on which let users index the web as a p2p network - currently something which is centralized and funded through advertising.

I found this on their twitter, a short video that is easy to understand: https://twitter.com/OysterProtocol/status/922113034159403008

Thank you, that was enjoyable to watch and paints a cleared picture to me what oyster is about. I am new to crypto and don't want to get overly excited about a project, but this one looks pretty cool to me!
