It ist still something different ... having an own powerful PC at home or using cloud gaming services. I have used several cloud gaming services over the years and although they work pretty well (most of them, most of the time) you still have this slight delay. It doesn't really effect your single player experience, but it still there and you notice this. Every time I was playing I was just thinking ... something is off. Maybe you get used to it ... but personally don't love that. Furthermore this services cost money, especially Playkey is very expensive. Instead of paying 30 bucks a month, you could safe the money and buy every 1-2 years a new gfx card.
Problems with delay should be solved by decentralization. On this play, I think it will be comfortable

No, it can't be solved, because there is not internet connection that is "instant" :-) Pushing data through a pipe takes time. You can't solve that problem, you can only shorten the delay. And you notice a 30-50ms delay, which is pretty good in online games, but not for input devices (mouse / keyboard). People are just not used to it. Particularly when games are more and more optimized for 60 FPS, to offer that buttery smooth controls ... that you won't have in cloud gaming ... ever.

I guess Playkey is also taking into account lower pings on future connections. 60 FPS are like having a grahical ping of 16.66 ms. Thus, if you are able to communicate with Playkey servers in less than that time, gaming experience can be fluent even on FPS. Of course I mean request+response so it's still hard to reach but well, not impossible IMHO.

As levyashin pointed out, the game also affects that. You can play non-ping-critical games like strategy, adventures or similar without affecting the experience.

You are right it is not possible to play multiplayer with playkey against normal users. And it will never be possible.  Only turn-based games can be played like that or exclusive servers just for playkey users.

In this article, the CEO of PlayKey said that its a myth to believe video games in a cloud have the lag time that makes it impossible to play. Does he mean cloud gaming in general or is he referring to multiplayer games in the cloud? Because as both of you mentioned, I think someone playing via Cloud Gaming will always have a disadvantage when he plays against someone with his own PC.

Netflix is a great reference for your internet speed.
If you can watch series without any glitches and with good image, your internet speed is good enough for playing games with PlayKey.

Cant wait to play all those games decentralized!
This is a great project and a game changer in so many ways.

i played online video games on the first adsl connections, it was laggy AF! I dont think i played on dial up, even though i used that a lot. Damn im old, kids these
days have no idea what real lag is! Playkey on blockchain with miners that supply computing power, it was my dream as a kid!
Yes, I'm also waiting for the launch of the platform with impatience. I would like to try mining and play

The Playkey project has collected its first $1 Million of investments in the  pre-sale campaign and is welcoming Dillon Seo, co-founder of pioneering virtual reality firm Oculus VR, as an advisor for Playkey on the latest VR technologies.

Do you want to know more? Here http://www.the-blockchain.com/2017/10/19/playkey-brings-1-million-pre-sale-campaign-welcomes-dillon-seo-vr-advisor/

So we can assume playkey will start focussing on VR tech. It's not really in the article

"Seo says the key reasons he chose to work with the company were its possession of a functioning prototype of its platform, Playkey.net, and the potential for P2P cloud-based gaming. Playkey is currently renting servers at data centers, but with funds raised through the ICO it plans to change its operating principle and move to a P2P model that will allow any owner of a powerful PC to rent out their hardware to other users."

I don't get how this streaming to vr will actually work Smiley

Well, VR need powerful PC's to run. With cloud gaming, you don't need a 3k PC for Oculus rift, making the technology more attractive.

A q for the devs. If VR is actually on the roadmap that is. Wouldn't VR applications tolerate much lower latency's compared to regular gaming? You have much more input from vr systems than from a regular gamepad/keyboard..

Become Part of the Mining Family

This is exactly why I think Playkey can become a hit! The fast gaming and no need for hardware.

Also they are very active with investor meetings and in blockchain conferences. Tomorrow they will be in Dubai https://www.dubai.worldblockchainsummit.com/

Can make a VR headset from a smartphone. This means that do not need anything at all, no computer, no VR helmet. Only the client for the mobile system and the Internet, and you can play anywhere. Well, a compact gamepad is needed.

When will it be possible to test mining on your platform?

you can test the streaming platform at playkey.net
Yes, he can, but he asked when he can test mining.
Obviously, after end of ICO and development stage, but when development will be ended, who knows.

would be nice if playkey platform wok on smatphone. I see more and more game is now played on mobile platform.

Well, VR need powerful PC's to run. With cloud gaming, you don't need a 3k PC for Oculus rift, making the technology more attractive.

You don't need a 3k PC for yourself to run this anylonger, but how is it on the other side? For one player how many "miners" are needed?  Huh

Well, one miner with a good gamer pc is enough.

I try the demo, play 'SID MEIER’S CIVILIZATION VI DEMO'  for a while , works perfect on my MAC , running very smooth.

Use PlayKey i can the PC only games , really exciting.
This project awesome

That's a game I want so badly to play but I can't because my laptop is too old :/ And even if I upgrade it wouldn't run smoothly.
Too bad my internet connection currently is so fucking slow, I would love to test the demo myself :/
With slow Internet you can not play comfortably even on a new platform
Yes, you cant play smoothly with slow internet connection even with this platform.
This is more like you compensate your low spec pc with your high speed connection.
