Hang on, creating multiple accounts for month 2...

I will have to agree, all though it is unfortunate that we will be denying these people entrance into the first months giveaway. It is still better that we protect the majority of users from scammers, rather than open our doors to scammers to protect a minority of users. If you create your account after July 1st you are welcome to enter into month 2 of the giveaway.

I just noticed a bug in BTCtalk forum code that incorrectly displays the first image in a set of table columns (it displays very very small) in google chrome.

This may be why some people could not figure out how to sign up, if they were using chrome.

I've modified the thread to circumvent this bug.

If you don't meet the requirements, you are not qualified. That's it!
Otherwise there are millions of fresh accounts who will participate.

I can't believe myself either that have only 6/10 but it just must be right. 

Limit by date of registration is also not the right approach. In my example I will say that I do not like to talk, and prefer to do business, and therefore not registered before.

This would require creating an additional site/system such as the one faircoin created.

Once created, it would move applications away from the transparency of bitcointalk.

If this was being done on another site, that I or another team members controls, what's to stop me or them from creating 1000 shares for ourselves?

At least this way (on BTCtalk), anyone and everyone can audit the list, to make sure there are no discrepancies in A. the number of coins being distributed and B. the number of legitimate accounts.

Doing as you suggested would also require us to spend time creating such a system. So we'd spend more time creating a flawed system that several people will take advantage of to a massive scale. Doing it here provides the quickest and most secure platform.

All though I will mention I'm getting very sick of these chinese scammers trying to pass off over 20 sock puppets.


I can imagine 10 chinese guys sitting around in a room creating bitcointalk accounts and signing up for giveaways all day. Sort of like what they've done for MMORPG gold selling. Makes me want to ban all chinese applicants in general. Is that what you assholes want? to ruin it for all chinese members?



Anyway, had some time to work on the wallet, fixed most of the gfx bugs. Will be pushing an update this week as well as sending out the quiz rewards on wednesday/thursday.

Why not eliminate the numerous accounts by IP address rather than the date of registration? More reasonable?

Also account must be created before July 1st (to prevent anyone creating multiple accounts for the giveaway), but I think this is common sense. I'll add a note about that.

 
This prevents people from using google translate or other automatic translators. If you read what I said in the first post I was asking for a simple text file in reading order. I converted all the graphics to german myself already with a translation supplied by yogibaer. You can see this in the german thread.

And it´s easy to reach 20+ posts without spamming because beside of a lot of trash there are many very interesting threads.
