can someone help out,
I get this trying to run daemon on the masari cli

Code:
Error: wallet failed to connect to daemon: http://localhost:38081. Daemon either is not started or wrong port was passed. Please make sure daemon is running or change the daemon address using the 'set_daemon' command.
Background refresh thread started
[wallet 5mroGC (no daemon)]:

refresh does not do it either..
thnx

You must run the daemon first, before starting the wallet. Run masarid.exe and let it sync up, it will notify when it's ready and you can open the wallet.

I hope what the dev is working on will be a success.
Is it too late to invest in Masari?

I think Masari is a good coin, knowing that it was a fork from Monero. When a coin is a privacy-featured coin, you can tell it is good. So any privacy coins are good investments today.

We have an upcoming fork/protocol upgrade, update your binaries to v0.2.3.0 for upcoming v6 on block #172500 https://github.com/masari-project/masari/releases/tag/v0.2.3.0

That's excellent news. Hopefully it's smooth sailing after this. Very impressed by the communication from devs to the community and more so by the prompt updates being pushed out.

Will the online wallet masari.network be okay to use after the fork? I got the key phrase. I should be fine, right?

As long as you have your seed, you are okay.

We have an upcoming fork/protocol upgrade, update your binaries to v0.2.2.0 for upcoming v6 on block #172500 https://github.com/masari-project/masari/releases/tag/v0.2.2.0

Definitely this is some of the long term solutions for the attacks.

can we continue mining now?

Yes, I think most of the pools are ok now.

Yes, the attack has been thwarted and it's settled down now.

OCUK mining pool is running nicely on the correct chain and ready for the next due at the weekend.

I thought the DAA was meant to protect from this? I’ve pulled from mining because it’s completely broken, blocks are just orphaning across all pools.

Bit of a disaster.

The DAA is enforcing the planned emission of coins via the difficulty, making sure that nobody could instamine and create temporarily a huge "inflation".
The DAA can not protect against a 51% attack. We have a 51% attack, not (only) a timestamp attack. Someone had to find those blocks before he could submit them with a faux timestamp, hence 51% attack.

This attack maybe also explains the extremely irrational selling behavior in the days prior to the fork. The person or entity which dumped all those coins (I guess a ASIC miner) was obviously in a hurry to cash out. It's entirely possible the same person/entity is now behind the attack, having a huge war chest to rent the nicehash botnet and rape the chain.
