It's about the pool software that the pool operator has put on those servers, that software is in beta.

I don't understand why he would put beta software on the other servers ? What would the reason be ? It would be nice if it could automatically redirect to the default server when issues arise.

I really hope he can take useast out of "beta" and implement auto load / latency balancing by just pointing to middlecoin soon. That would solve my issue with not being able to set up a failover server. I would prefer taking high reject rates and connecting to asia over being completely disconnected.

I'm very far from the default Middlecoin server, And was suffering because of it, So switched to the Asia server and it was perfect for a while, But now it's going down hill, If I point it back to the default server I'm back to square one  Angry

do you think VPN might help?

asia seems also down

I've been getting bundles of lost shares due to stratum disconnects, And average hash rate is well below what it should be, Even though I reconfigured my setup today for better results, For the life of me I don't know how it can go down even though it's at least ten percent higher on my end than yesterday.
Yep.  I'm barely hitting 500mh/s on my R9 280X on the uswest.  I was running 710mh/s on useast.

Gonna be a lousy pay day today if it isn't fixed soon.

710Mh/s is actually quiet good for a 280X Is that accepted hash rate ? 500 is taking the piss, I noticed the other day he said the site would report about 10% less than it should be, Makes me wonder why and if it's a similar reason now.

Hmmm. My 8 rigs are all reporting rejects of less than 3%.  They all seem to be around 2% which is a tad higher than normal.  This is on useast by the way.

Your on useast right now? Its down for me..

us east is also down for me , but did connect to the regular middlecoin (aka us west) i also am curious how he is using useast

I'm curious, as I put a miner on this pool to see how it goes.  I'm used to mining from stable pools and coins, so I'm used to results.

I notice diff is 1K, so that's 0.4-0.6 WU for the best GPU (per unit) made.  That's only submitting 1 block per 1.5-2 minutes....  Isn't it odd to have a difficulty this high, when several of the coins being mined here are not above 1K difficulty for the network?

Also, I notice new blocks are being submitted every 2-6 seconds.  Doesn't it seem odd to take 90 seconds to solve a block when they come in every 4-5 seconds?  That makes a 3-4% block find chance Irrespective of pool difficulty.

Last, not been on too long but there are fairly high rejects compared to "normal" (what I'm used to);  It seems the main reason for these is high diff and short block time.

Is this normal for the pool WU compared to new block times?  Not sure if they are just switching coins fast, or just mining one of the scamcoins with low block time.

To expand on that previous idea, isn't it just using the Amazon servers? What makes the difference between them being beta and non beta?

US West (Oregon) Region
EC2 Availability Zones: 3    Launched 2011

US East (Northern Virginia) Region
EC2 Availability Zones: 5*    Launched 2006

Asia Pacific (Singapore) Region
EC2 Availability Zones: 2    Launched 2010

EU (Ireland) Region
EC2 Availability Zones: 3    Launched 2007

On a semi-related note of my cards and their variable / instable hashrates, since i have been using uswest for the past couple of hours because of useast's instability, I have noticed that my hashrate no longer fluctuates when Im hashing on uswest, and is stable once again.. very interesting I wonder why that would be.

Oh and btw the instability of my hashrates only started a few days ago, and Ive been on middlecoin since Dec 17.

Can you create something like this?

Teach me for not having three failover pools  Roll Eyes

My pool/failovers are:
1. Middlecoin useast
2. Middlecoin uswest
3. Hashcows
4. Poolerino EAC pool

As a result, no cut in to profits. I never even get to pool 3/4. They are there just in case. Also ping is really inconsequential. Blocks aren't found fast enough for an extra 100ms lag to really make much difference.

Furthermore, afaik useast is BETA. Expect 50% uptime and be grateful for more. Along those same lines, uswest is non-beta, so expect 98% uptime and grateful for more.

You have no one to blame but yourself for your high expectations and poor mining practices. If you think you can make more elsewhere (lol), there's the door. Good luck.

Sadly, I'm running cudaminer on one of my rigs and there is no failover option. It's normally pointed to useast but when that cuts out my mining output is cut in half since it's not able to switch to uswest. uswest on the other hand gives me 5-8% rejects when useast is around 1% to 2%

What makes the beta servers "beta"? Why do the servers fail or go down? Aren't these just Amazon servers? Wouldn't you just run the same backend on all of the servers and be done with it? There isn't really any reason why there would be a huge difference between them right?

Wow jump down someone's throat much? I was just surprised that neither West or EU were up, At what point did I claim high expectations or thinking I could make more elsewhere? I'm happy here thanks and good payouts.

Middle is always returning way more than the likes of Multipool etc should do.

Gonna go out on a limb and say he meant to quote the_unholy_grail

Either that or it was just a general statement from someone who has been here a while.  I've never seen people complain so much about a pool as they do about Middlecoin.  Between ignorance of difficulty and balances, there is never a shortage of pissed off people in this thread Smiley
