I understand that, I'm mostly concerned about the Amperage, not wattage.  Wattage will stay the same, voltage will increase, therefore amperage will decrease. Theoretically it should be greater than 2:1 reduction since the PSU's will actually gain efficiency at 240V.

What is your exact question?  Maybe I shouldn't have skipped lunch....

Yes, you will halve you amperage going from 120V to 240V.  Yes, your PSU units will run a tad more efficiently (like a couple %) running on 240V versus 120V.  As I stated, a 4 card R9 280X rig pulls about 1100W from the wall which equates to ~4.5A @ 240V.

Thank you for that.  My current 4 280x rigs pull ~10.5-11A, so the reduction is greater than 2.  That's what I was looking for.

For the guys that are running 100+ mh/s farms: are you running on 120 or 220 volt systems? I'm debating making the switch to 220 to lower the Amperage on each system and gain some efficiency.  What kind of amp load are you seeing for a 4 GPU (290 or 280X) system?

Anyone running a significant amount of hashpower is not using 120V.  My farm is approx 18Mh/s and I'm using 240V.  I have three phase power to my facility (600A total) though my PDUs are currently single phase only.

A 4-card 280X rig will pull around 1100W.

As per EUR or USD to GBP, yeah, I don't think there are any big enough BTC/GBP markets.
I've been looking at this the last few days and the cheapest solution I seemed to have found so far is:
1) trade out of BTC into EUR on Kraken for 0.2%
2) SEPA transfer to a EUR bank account in the UK
3) Use a cheap FX company to change into GBP (found these guys earlier: http://www.worldfirst.com/) and doesn't charge for transfers.

Sounds good no?

For all of you that are in the EU SEPA zone: use Bitstamp https://www.bitstamp.net ... fast, secure and easy to use with low fees.

I've used www.therocktrading.com, they also support SEPA transfers. You should ačsp check does your bank accept SEPA transfers, I found out that my doesn't, still got the money today but paid 1% fees. SEPA fee is allegedly 1€.
By February 1st, 2014, all transactions will be made in SEPA system, all current national systems are expired (between banks inside the SEPA region).

quickest cross blockchain transactions
have any of you played with expiry and scan-time i was reading lowering them will really improve getting shares in and out faster with scrypt and it has my work utility used to be 100+ less then the hash now its same or more.
these seem to really work good for my 2x 7970s.
"expiry" : "12",
"scan-time" : "6",

I've worked with "5" for both, but I'll try your setting nows. I'm mining with just one 7850.

Anyone know anything about middlecoin payout address 1M3jtksp1upR33SX1VzeCfH5x9fc6zKykR? 500 mhs seems hard to believe. I wonder if it's a company and hundreds of gpus are running in the same building or if it's many different places all hashing to the same address?
It was confirmed by h2o that it's a legit user in China.

The user have actually posted here too. He or she owns a company with a mining-farm in China. Smiley

They started the day with way more unexchanged than you it looks like (something like 0.09). So it looks like the gain for today is similar, no?

Correct, they started the day with a high unexchanged balance, but if you look at the personal charts, we each have the same hashrate over the past few days, why was their unexchangex so much more than mine? Or anyone else in that hashrate range? Before I knew that each server was doing something different, but h2o stated that all servers are doing the same thing now. (Even before US server was more profitable and I was and always have been on US server). Also, their unexchanged is much higher, but so have their daily payouts.

I am not sure why their unexchanged will grow differently (with the assumption that all server mine and trade exactly the same). I know that, sometimes, some trades randomly get stuck in the exchanges (i.e. Crypsty from my personal experience) and they need manual intervention (i.e. cancel and resubmit). Maybe it is something like that.

As for the perfs of the past few days, I have noted several days when you had larger payouts, eg. Jan 6th or a few days before. (although, to be fair, it looks like their hashrate decreased a bit compared to yours). It would require careful examination for each day to be sure, and I do not have much time right now ... Sad but it seems to me that, at least for your example of the last day, your total gains increased very similarly to theirs, contrary to what it may have looked like at first glance.

Cheers.

Someone please explain this to me:

I have a balance of .033 and an unexchanged of .027. Yet a person with the same exact hashrate as me has the same balance, but .11 unexchanged. That doesn't make any sense. How is this person making .074 more than I am if we have the same hashrate? Even my 3 hour average is higher than theirs. They also got paid a lot more than I did yesterday and the day before.

Having the same hashrate for you both over time is difficult, there are a lot of minor variations and it could depend on your miner version and program. There could be some other factors such as price the coins were sold at.

thanks, been playing with this for days and i think you've done it!  Grin Grin Grin

my efficiency hovering about 10-15% higher than before (per rig 165% to 196%) and no stale shares or getwork errors as yet. I'll report back in 24 hours with stats.

This has been beaten to death the last few pages. It all depends on what server you're on, your settings, your time on that server, etc.

You could only compare apples to apples if we all split hashrate equally instead of just for the coin you're mining.

No matter what server they are on, they are submitting the same amount of accepted shares I am (hence the same hashrate). So I can understand if he had more unexchanged with a lower balance (in the end they all are about equal). Also, h2o said that all servers are running the same thing now, so none of the servers would be more profitable than the others

His rejected mh/s is .01, yours is .21. Basically, his setup is running more efficiently.

He may be running more efficiently as unless rejects, but he is still submitting the same amount of accepted shares to get the same hashrate
